    Default HELP with DVD Kit

    Hi all!

i have bought an US Xbox here in switzerland.
At first i used the Code 2 DVD Kit and it worked
    fine.

Now ive bought the Code 1 DVD Kit and it says
its the wrong DVD Kit version or something similar.

Could it be that my Xbox is now locked and can
    play only Code 2 DVDs?

    thank you in advance

    Simon

Once you plug in one DVD kit your Xbox becomes hardcoded with that region. Your Xbox is now a Region 2 only player. No other dvd kit will work.

Once the system has locked into a region code it's stuck forever (unless modded).

I don't know if the DVD kit affects what games are compatible with the unit.

It doesn't affect games, just movie playback. So if you put in an american (region 1) dvd playback kit on a region 4 pal xbox, you will only be able to view region 1 ntsc dvd's but you would still be able to play region 4 pal xbox games.

There is a region free hacks now and products you can buy. Here is one: http://www.technodevices.com/news.html and this is free, that you can download and burn to a cdrw. No clue if your xbox needs to be modded though. So tread softly.
