The best SET is Daedric. There are odds and ends that are better, but not part of any set. The Lord's Mail for example, is the best cuirass in the game.

Glass Armor is the best for light armor, its not heavy.

I use the Lords Mail or Saviors Hide cuirass even though light armor is my major skill.

i'd say lords mail is one of the top heavy cuirasses, but the ebony mail takes it out for overall best cuirass

    daedric pauldrons
    daedric boots
    eleidons ward (shield)
    Ar 296 (around there)

    My armor setup:

    Lord's mail
    Ebony pauldrons
    Ebony greaves
    Ebony boots
    Fists of Randagulf
    Eleidon's Ward

    Current armor rating: 175

Pretty good for not wearing a helm; My face is too sexy for a helm.

A question about the Daedric armor: Is killing Divaryth Fyr the only way to get the boots, pauldrons, and cuirass? If so, I got some murdering to do. And yes, I'm aware that you have to get cured of corprus by him first before killing him.

Go to Tel Fyr, the dude named Lord Fyr has a full set on, but killing him screws with the main quest...lets just say I wont be doing anything for the main quest at all...and yes, he's pretty damn tough.

Well you see, then there's always the part where I dont care...with a game like this, you have to have fun. I play games to do what I want in them, not what someone else wants me to do. I didnt get past level 100 by doing quests.
