If it was an official picture it would be Bungie.net on the bottom right side in clear color.

I thought the same thing , but then again Halo 2 would be a stupid title if there was no Halo , or that could be from a Cut scene explaining whatt happened in Halo 1 well anyway we won't know for another year, ...

If you remember, the Halo ring from the first Halo was installation 4. There are several other Halo installations that would fire once the Halo ring fires. They made it very clear that there are many more Halo ring installations...
The pic however displayed here in this thread is not a real Halo 2 pic. Sorry...
