Whacked Being Scrapped?

Presto Studios is dismantling, piece by piece. The reception desk was taken away Thursday. Some of the studio's numerous industry awards are missing from the walls. Just about all the leftover computers and office equipment are for sale. The Sorrento Valley studio, a well-known creative team in the video game industry, announced this week it is shutting its doors. The news shocked Presto's fans, and many of its 21 employees. It seemed as though the company was riding a wave of success after producing the top-selling "Myst III: Exile" computer game and the upcoming "Whacked!" game for Microsoft's XBox system.

Whacked! Still On Track

Yesterday evening we ran a story that stated that Presto Studios, developers of Whacked!, would be closing their doors. The story, which came from the San Diego Union Tribune, gave a fairly details description of the reasons the company would be shutting down and other such matters; however the article didn’t address the one burning question that all Xbox fans were thinking, “is Whacked! still going to be released?”. Soon after our initial report we decided to find out and, as luck would have it, Whacked! is still on track. Below is the official word:
“We will ship as planned this Fall. It will be Presto's last shipping title.”
So, in the end, we at least get to enjoy Whacked! later this Fall on Xbox.

Whacked is in warehouses across the US right now. So the game will be delivered on time.
