Arrow Question about 1920x1080 resolution and xbox capabilities with it

[color=skyblue] ive seen on xbox.com/support that the xbox can handle resolution UP TO 1920x1080, now this raises some questions for me cause does that mean playing dvd movies at that res, or can the games be played at that res?? im thinking about getting hdtv just for my new X-box this jolly christmas season and need to know which set will work best with the box, of course if games CAN be played at that res, im sold on the 1920x1080

    anyone help???

The XBox doesn't magically turn your DVDs into HD-DVDs. It won't even play them with progressive scan (as previously announced). DVDs on the XBox should look the same as on a regular DVD player. They will work just find on an HDTV, though.

How much video RAM (or shared system memory) would it take to initialize a 1920x1080 by 32 bit color depth triple buffered screen mode?

Does the XBOX have enough RAM to do anyhting usefull with such a screen mode other then displaying really high resolution still pictures.

Just looking for some understanding here
