it just seems right that the best game of the year come out during holiday season also.

halo 2 will come out oct-nov.
most likely november 15th, marking the 1st year anv. of xbl.
it'll be a great present for xbox live's b-day

Just because gamespot has bad reviews sometimes, it still has one of the best news sites.
LOL, that date is 100% fabricated. All of the major game stores produced a date so they can take preorders early. It is common practice. I guarantee that that date did not come from Bungie at all. Bungie still sticks by the fact that it is coming in the fall of 2003, not June.

They did the interview for the Halo 2 trailer talking to a worker from Bungie and he said they had barely anything to show off from the game, they had to special make the trailer. There's no way, unless they want a game that totally stinks, that they will release it this soon.
