I just called them at 10:30am EST today...the tech said "The patch is finished and is being sent to MS currently...

He called UBI and got the following dialog.

1. How will it be implemented?
A.It will be direct, when you log on to GR , it will ask you if you want to update

2.What will it fix?
A.Sound, lag, invites and lobby, and will raise ping times to 600 or so (higher than any other live title currently out)

3.Anything on raven-sheild?
A. Yeah, it rocks....I just beat it...(yeah ubi gets to play it first!!! not just the demo!...he says the cheats are cheap)

4.Time frame for the patch?
A.Hopefully within a week....but its up to MS now...

MY thoughts
As it stands right now what you go to search for a game any thing over 100 is not shown and those that are shown are either great severs or really close to you geographicly. But now many BAD severs will be shown, does this really help NO. I think many ppl will be unhappy with the patch as it sounds.

Yea datz tru. Da only time i've had a good, competitive, long GR game is with these peepz 4rom XBA and DD. U should hook up wit these peepz sometime.

Thanks for the link. The only discrepancy I saw was someone posting that the update would address sound, lag, and other issues. That I know of that is not necessarily true. I don't believe that there are any sound updates, and as for the lag the only change will be upping the QoS but I don't think that will affect peoples lag. Lag or lack of lag is usually dependant on each persons connection. The higher the traffic in their area the higher the lag will be.,

So I don't think sound will be updated. Seriously, what is there to update with the sound?

And the ping thing will be good to find more games, but those games might be horribly laggy due to higher pings. Cross your fingers.
