Default Theory on DOA XB mature rating...

After playing this game for a while, there is nothing I saw that even comes close to a mature rating. So why isn't Tecmo all up in arms about this? My theory is that there is a topless easter egg/cheat code. Tecmo would have to inform the ESRB people about it, and hence they give it an 'M' rating. What do you guys think?

Just a side note, in the options menu there is a setting for your age.

I recall DOA2's "nude" cheat needed the age setting adjusted.

Why else would they put this setting in the game??

What does it say under the M on the front? Like suggestive themes, violence, gore, that type of stuff. (obviously not the last two)

There is a bit of nudity during opening movie, and I'm guessing that's what tagged the M rating. It is heavilly shadowed and hard to see, but you can make out enough. More significantly, it's full frontal, so I have little doubt that's the prime reason the game earned and M.

Yes, one would think that would be the reason, but I wonder...
DOA3 had nudity in it as well, and it only got a Teen raiting. I think that it was a combination of the opening CG, tiny tiny tiny suits, and bouncing (That's what the age setting is for). But that should only give it a Teen raiting. I think it was the gambling that pushed it over the edge.

This theory has become as big as the Tomb Raider nude cheat, and could be just as false.

One of the big rumors going 'round is that the cheat code is hidden on the volloeyball itself. Apparently the ball says 'CODE' on it and there is some smaller writing below that. Anyone else have any leads?

The opening movie is the most cliche'd thing I've ever seen that I actually enjoy watching...gotta love Christie!
    Xbox Games I Own...

Halo, Capcom vs. SnK EO , Dead or Alive 3, Splinter Cell, Crazy Taxi 3, Buffy, Max Payne, Unreal Championship, Hitman 2

    Games I'm playing most...
Unreal Championship - LIVE is addictive
Quake 3 Arena - (pc) play about 5 mins less per day than UC
    Hitman 2

Add me to your frends list if you play Unreal on LIVE, I sold Ghost Recon cause it was simply a hype machine to match SOCOM, instead I opted for something for more ORIGINAL...the first online fighting game EVER in the USA!

No clue, but I read something about that too. Unfortunately, I don't have big enough of a television to be able to read that fine print!

A point. But the difference there is that the nudity in DOA3 occurred at the very end of Christie's game. The nudity in XBV occurs during the opening cinematics. That makes it more available and increases its exposure. Furthermore, the nudity in the opening sequence includes full frontal. That's a little different from a two second shot of Christie's rear.

It dosen't matter when it happens. If it exists in the game, they count it.

As for full frontal, that's possible, but it is dark and blured. Not that that's not still enough, but I'm still thinking you need more than that (IE: Titantic)

(Somebody just wants to argue with me, don't they? )

im guesssing theres got to be more nudity than just the opening sequence. if the opening sequence was the only instance of nudity then it would have been deemed "brief nudity" but it says plain "Nudity" on the back. so its gotta be something you have to unlock....but i think they're gonna make us work for it....like collecting every single item or something..

I have to think that the gambling in the game is a big reason for the mature rating. But there may be nudity somewhere else in this game, and its just a matter of time before someone finds it.

i thought that i read somewhere, that there would be a nude code for the game, like a topless mode.

The Age setting was used for the "bouncability" of the girls if I remember correctly. Don't know if it affects them in DOAX.

Save me the trouble please, when you find the blatant open nudity, go ahead and tell me. I'll get the game then.
