Talking Public Can Vote for Controller Color at Xbox.com!

    Vote! Vote! Vote!

    http://www.xboxevolved.com/xenews/view.php?id=488

Recognizing that color allows people to express their individuality, Microsoft Corp. is listening to gamers who wanted color options for their Xbox™ controller. The company is even taking it one step further by putting the choice of colors squarely in the gamers’ hands. In an exciting new twist to the Xbox experience, gamers can log onto Xbox.com beginning today to help decide the colors of a special line of Xbox controllers.

Xbox is offering gamers a vivid palette of choices, including red, orange, green, blue and clear. The new color controllers will retain the physical characteristics of the highly popular and ergonomic Xbox Controller S.

The votes will be tallied on March 31, and the winning colors will be unveiled at the Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3) May 14 in Los Angeles. The new color controllers will appear on retail shelves this October in North America.

“Gamers told us they love the Controller S, but thought it would be fun to have it in different colors,” said Bill Nielsen, director of Xbox brand marketing at Microsoft Corp. “We’re taking their advice, and are going one step further by asking them to help us make the decision about what colors to offer. Black and green will continue to be the primary colors of Xbox, but we’re looking to have a little fun by adding a few bold new shades into the mix.”

The controllers will be sold separately for an estimated retail price of $29.99 and will join the black Xbox Controller S on retail shelves.

... Some of those look incredibly tacky. If they wanted to add color maybe they should have went with an opaque plastic, not color a'la madcatz. And on top of that they are charging more? Thanks but no thanks, I'll be sticking with my skinned controllers.

i wouldn't mind having a couple of them. but i like the regular controller more than the s. the s is to small for my hands, that, and i got really used to the regular controller. so if they sent out a few clear regular size controllers i may pick 2 up so i can complete my set.

and kraft where did you see that they are charging more? $29.99 is the normal price, unless you shop on ebay of course

I like the blue one. The rest don't appeal to me too much.

Ever since the first iMac I have hated translucent colored plastic. I don't want iControllers for my iBox.

Now if they did chrome, or a brushed metal (either faux or real) or perhaps some metalic solid colors like the xboxskins try to reproduce then that would have been something worth voting for.

Kraft, did you get your skins from the xbox-skin place? I'm thinking about ordering some myself and wanted to know if the place was ok to order from.

Yeah, their new name is skinefx.com The regular controller skins are hard as hell to put on, but look hella cool once you've got 'em on there.

the only one I like is the green one, and I don't really like that too much. I wish they made them with a solid white front, and with the original controllers instead of controller s

just type in Xbox.com, and you can get there from there. I was getting the same message, there should be something on the left that says something about it.

Those all suck, transparency is way too over-used.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?" Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others" - Nelson Mandela
