Shocked Star Wars Galaxies Cancelled for Xbox!?

See for yourselves. They have removed the Xbox logo from the main site. Not really a suprise, I never expected them to be able to get it to run on the xbox in the first place. A game of that scale needs to be developed from the ground up to use a consoles unique memory architecture.

What's this? Lucasarts not delivering? I would honestly be bummed about this news if I miraculously thought that Lucasarts developed games above the sub-par mark.

In other words, Lucas Arts sucks ass at making games.

Im somewhat dissapointed, but I was pretty sure I was going to get the game for PC, anyway. There are more girls on MMO games when they're on PC anyway.

I don't know if Lucas Arts are the developers of SWG, the games I know that have been published by Lucasarts that're good are StarWars DarkForces, StarWars DarkForces 2: Jedi Knight, and SW JediKnight II. And I enjoyed JK1 and JK2 very much, but not as much as Halo.

I don't think the logo being removed is sufficient proof that the game has been cancelled, althogh such subtle differences did hint at rare leaving gamecube, and even the fall of the dreamcast back in 2000.

You never know, but until official word or comfirmation, I will keep faith in this game.

P.S.

Spartan, did you know there are girls in real places too? try a club or a party....
Don't RTFM me! I already RTFMed, okay!

True, it is not listed in the Xbox section of Lucasarts.com, however, here the Xbox Symbol is present.
As well when one clicks this link, s/he will se that Sony are developing the game and Lucas Arts are publishing it. On the official site I have not seen it list any platforms that the game is coming out on. However, seeing as Lucas Arts are publishing I trust that the PC-CD Rom and XBox symbols shown on thier site are enough proof it is still cheduled for release. I sure hope it turns out good on XBox and PC.

-edit-
The Xbox symbol was there... Then I went back and it was gone. Wierd...

Shocked Could Someone Please Answer This Definitively?

It's so aggravating to see a lot of subtle evidence that SW:G for Xbox has been cancelled (not listed anymore at lucasarts.com; no longer listed as "coming soon" at ebgames.com and gamestop.com, etc.), but to be completely unable to find a definite yes or no.

Does anyone know how to find out for sure?

Dude, I was talkin about the game, I'd rather play an MMORPG that has females in the mix, too. And:

1) We're both too young for clubs [when we're old enough, lets go huntin ]
-AND-
2) I do go to parties, 2 this year [not including the band party]

While it certainly isn't good news that console logos (Xbox's in particular) are gone from the site, it might not be bad news either. Hopefully, it means nothing, and one day we'll all look back on this and laugh.

Additionally, I see no reason why Lucas wouldn't do a console release; it only means more money. In regards to Brevity's comment about console's memory structures, I wouldn't be too worried. Brevity, correct me if I misunderstood you but, ElderScrolls certainly wasn't built for the Xbox from the ground up and it's a very complicated game. If the problem arises from the online element: Well if Sony can get a version of Everquest to work on the PS2 (I'm not sure how different from the original evquest this is) then anecdotally, at least, Galaxies should work on the Xbox, with a little porting effort.

Hmmm. The website http://www.bluesnews.com posted a brief news item on this on May 1st, under the title ”Galaxies Contract?” In it, they speculate that the decision has indeed been made to drop PS2 and Xbox versions of Galaxies, but no announcement to that effect has yet been made.

It does not really answer our question, though it echoes the same fear.
