Do I buy?

With RTCW out now, is it worth spending £40 (about $70) for Ghost Recon? or just go straight for RTCW??

At this point I would just go with RTCW. It is a newer game and it seems to have more support behind it. In a few months Ghost Recon: Island Thunder will be released anyways. If you want a ghost recon game, wait for that one.

First and foremost, check out my afro avatar.

After you finish viewing it, (if you finish viewing it) I suggest you try the games. They are both first person shooters, but they are 2 completely different games. GR is a whole lot more....realistic I guess, and its multiplayer is a helluva lot of fun but it is slow paced. RTCW is a fast paced online shooter, also tons of fun. You really have to try them both.

Papke's right. Very different games. But if you like both I would go for RTCW since Island Thunder is on it's way, and I would think that the original GR won't see too much action after that.

While a lot of people abandoned GR intially, it seems that many are back to playing it at least semi-regularly (at least according to my FL)

Sorry I exposed you guys to the grammatical nightmare that was my previous post. I was reading over it and I almost gave myself a heart attack. However, I have now fixed it. This is just to clear things up.

And, after thinking about it, I agree with DukeBuckhorn about getting RTCW. He brought up Island Thunder which will most likely destroy GR's online players. I know I'll stop playing GR as soon as I get IT.

$70 for any game is too much. Especially one that has been out for as long as GR.
