what size did you have your heart set on? The better tv you get, the smaller it is...
i have kind of a shallow living room so anything 27 and above would do me. I'd like to have better input than RF too, thats one requirement. I'm playing on a 20 inch magnavox with an rf adapter, not the best setup
Dude, you shouldn't have any problem with $500. They have a bunch of sales going on everywhere. I work part-time at an electronics store called Fred Meyer...I'm not sure where you are located, but, this is a Northwest company primariliy. But, anyway, they are selling 32" Sonys for under $500 and they have S-Video and everything. When you buy a TV, MAKE SURE IT HAS "S-VIDEO"...and then pick up the Advanced A/V Pack to connect your XBox......this will improve your set-up 10 fold I hope that helps!
Yeah i would love flatscreen but i know thats a lofty goal....
lol...you are about $6,500 short for a Plasma TV But, I'm extremely confident that you can get a 32" S-Video TV for $500! That's a BIG upgradeOriginally posted by cadetlinux

i dont' want plasma screen, i want vega style flat screen
almost forgot i would like audio output too on the tv
Well, you can get a 27" Sony Wega (Audio output: YES), which has a flat picture tube, if thats what you mean. Its $600 tho. Although it has component inputs, but I dont think it will make any difference because 27" is still kind of small. You can get a Samsung 27" Flat Tube (Audio output: YES) with component inputs also for $479.99 at bestbuy. You can get a Sony Trinitron 27" with S-Video for $399 (Audio output: YES). You can also get a Toshiba 27" with S-Video for $299 (Audio output: YES). It all depends on what other features you want your new TV to have. But listen to maximus, you definently want S-Video to say the least!
[EDIT for addition of audio output]

I would personaly go for the 27" SONY WEGA flat screen. It's a really good tv for the price and it offers you good picture also. Don't you just wish they made a tv only for the XBOX
Hidden Content take that PS2 !!! Hidden Content
JVC AV-27230
i just got one a month ago... it's 27" with s-video and component inputs.
