Soul Calibur 2 question

hey, i have a question about weapons mode. im on chapter 9. but on chapter 8, i cant finish all of the levels. like, i finished the 1st 2nd 3rd 4th and 6th ones, but i cant go to the 5th one. its not selectable. i have no idea why. and also on subchapter 3, i finished the first 2, but the last one isnt selectable either. is there something i need to do??
