Goblin Commander Xbox Preview

Console real time strategy games are few and far between but Jaleco Entertainment hopes to break that trend with Goblin Commander: Unleash the Horde, which has a couple of former Blizzard folks at the helm. HomeLAN recently received an Xbox beta build of the full game to try out for ourselves (it will also be released on the PS2 and Xbox).

Goblin Commander’s mix of action and RTS seems to be well designed and based on our playing a beta of the Xbox version we think it has a solid single player campaign, great looking graphics and a well handled controller interface. It may make some console players fans of the RTS format. Look for Jaleco to release all three versions of Goblin Commander to stores in mid-November.

I think even for a cross-platform game this one should be a lot of fun. It'll be nice to have a Warcraft type of game on the X.

From what I hear the game is a little deficient in the graphics department, but it is the first RTS for a console that is fun to play. Lucky for the game it is being developed by two guys who also helped develope starcraft and Warcraft 3 for the pc.

Nick,,,,,,who made it is the only reason I am giving this game a real look. I mean these people have what it takes, and even if this one does not turn out to be great I think it will be a great first try and I am thinking that they will end up getting this whole console RTS thing down.

jaleco is an awful company, ever since the nes days i'd never buy something from them, ever...and this looks horrible... my prediction, people will buy it because its the only game in that genre on xbox...well one of few i think glaidus or one of those gladiator games might be a rts, but still not the same... anyway... then people will realize they've been had, and will be angry and lots of trade ins will happen and the price will drop and no one will want it...

Yes, it's an RTS, however, it's likely not going to hold a candle to Warcraft, IMO.

from those screen shots the graphics look like ****, i like the title but ill wait for rent i think.
