Which racing games do you plan to get this year and why?

I’ve been looking into some of the racing games coming out this year and I’ve started developing a list of ‘must-have’ racing game picks.

1. Driver 3 (http://www.driver-3.tk/) ~ both Driver 1 and 2 were incredible, so there’s no way I’m passing up this one.
2. R.Racing (http://www.racing-evolution.com/ ) ~ there are some new features in this one that I’ve wanted to see in a racing game for a long time, such as improved A.I. and in-game radio communications with the pit crew and rival drivers.
3. Mario Kart: Double Dash (http://www.planetnintendo.com/mariokart/) ~ my friend and I used to play Mario Kart on Nintendo 64 for hours on end. Even if the new one is simply improved graphics, that’s reason enough for me to waste another month of my life playing it.

So, those are a few of my choices and the list is building. Which racers do you have your eye on?

Definitely Project Gotham Racing 2! With the amazing graphics, tight cars, and Xbox LIVE!, I can't pass it up!

I'm getting MX Unleashed,MTX:Mototrax,Mario Cart DD, 1080 Avalanche those are all games that WILL be in my home this coming year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if u score the fastest time in a race track, it will be posted on the stats online and when someone wants to beat that time, they can race against ur ghost. its a pretty cool feature online.

I am going to get Project Gotham Racing 2 for sure. One reason is because the first one had great graphics and awesome cars. The second reason is that this version is going to have even better graphics, even more cars (101!), and the online play. You can't beat that in my book. I am also thinking about getting Ralli Sport 2. The first one was pretty cool (i only played the demo, though) and this one is going to have online play and be of the first XSN racing titles.

I think PGR2 will become one of the best racing titles out for Xbox

Definately PGR2...XBox Live is going to be wicked with this game!

And, yes, Rallisport 2 is going to be a must. To be dead honest with you, the first Rallisport Challenge is my second favorite XBox game to date. It's a platinum hit currently and you can pick it up for a mere $19.99...worth every penny. Bad ass game!

I loved the first RalliSport Challenge, and I'm definitely looking forward to playing the next. The graphics look amazing, the handling was loose and arcade-style, which I can totally appreciate for a driving game of this nature. The second will improve on every aspect of the first, and the addition of real time damage will certainly serve to make driving well that much more of a coup.

Need For Speed Underground for sure..........just the thought of a street racer where i have control of the cars looks (literally) not like other games promised and never happened

already got my copy of PGR2 pre-ordered
and maximus Gamespot says it's coming out 03/16/2004 and microsoft's game studios website (not xbox.com) says it comes out spring 2004 so gamespot could have the right date.

Is NFSU coming out this year? If so, then I'm most certainly adding it to my list. Pretty sure Driver 3 and GT4 won't be out until next year. R:Racin Evolution is definitely coming out this year ~ and it's looking pretty damn fine;
