HOLY SH*T!!!
Pretty impressive, but the textures look very low in resolution. Also, I find Eternal Darkness' character models much more impressive:
In Raven Blade, the backgrounds are also eyepopping:
But what if I am right?
You want to see impressive models, look at Dead or Alive 3. They blow Eternal Darkness away.

Yea, those are extremely sweet... even better than ED. Still, blown away wouldn't be my choice of words... more like, "slightly top" or something to that sort. Anyways, how do the backgrounds and landscapes look? Did they try to put too much into the character models?
Still, now that I've looked more at Raven Blade, I've had my doubts about DOA3's supieriority:
But what if I am right?
Only prob I have with the Raven Blade videos/screen caps is they are all from FMV. NOT in-game footage. If they can pull that off in-game, I'll be impressed. I'm not saying the GC is a bad machine. Far from it. The GC rocks. But I happen to think the Xbox rocks more. If you look at in-game footage of launch titles (RB isn't a launch title, it'll probably be 2nd or 3rd gen), the Xbox games can do so much more. Also, when it comes to defining a console's graphical out put it sucks to use screen caps. Check out direct-feed video captures instead.
But all of this is moot. What makes any console great is the fun games. If the GC games sound like they'd be more fun to play, then by all means, get the GC (aything's better than that Jagstation 2 hehe). I was going down that same path. I've never owned anything other than Nintendo. But I took a look at the line up of games and the just don't appeal to me. That's the REAL reason I'm going for the Xbox. It's graphics could be worse than the PS2 and I'd still get it. Anyway, I'd better stop before I start rambling.

Yes, this is almost true. I've checked around some and everywhere I go it says that these are the in-game character models. So maybe the backgrounds are rendered or something, I don't know. Also, at IGN it says the screens released at E3 were rendered. So it seems that two of the pics I put up are rendered for sure.Originally posted by CodeScribe

However, one of the bigger things that tipped me off was the "(High-res)" marker beside all of the pics shown at E3. I thought at first they were just referring to the picture resolution on there site. But after a little investigating, I found that all of their pics were all the same resolution.
Many of the pics at IGN have been released released after E3. I don't think this means that all of the pics released after E3 are real time, but by judging from the way some of them look, it sure does look that way. Here is a before and after comparison:

These are all "after" pics that I truly believe are real time:
Yes, I totally agree. I've looked at both DOA3, ED, and RB on direct feed, all were extremely impressive. While I'd still have to give DOA3 the nod for best graphics, I thought RB had the best animation. Also, when it comes to defining a console's graphical out put it sucks to use screen caps. Another game that screens don't do justice for, is WaveRace. The wave action in that game could make anyone sick.
I commend you for pointing that out, and for choosing the system you truly thought would have the best games. We really can't be for sure which will have the best until the systems are released, even then it will still be a matter of opinion. But all of this is moot. I personally will choose the GCN for Perfect Dark 2, Zelda, Metroid, Mario, Rogue Leader, Turok Evolution, and Eternal Darkness. I'm also positive Nintendo and Rare will crank out other sure smash hits... it just seems like Nintendo is the safer bet to me.
EDIT: I forgot to mention, I have emailed Retro to find out for sure whether or not those are real time.

But what if I am right?
One other thing, if you don't believe the GCN can do even those rendered pics, look at the Rebirth video. IGN thought this was CGI at first, but was later informed that most of the video was actually real time. It's VERY, VERY, impressive.
But what if I am right?
Wow, great investigating. I also gree that those games will kick major tushy. I'm just looking for something new. If I had the cash I'd probablly buy both.

why do you disagree with me when you know I'm right?
IGN is about as good as they get.
But what if I am right?
Yep, IGN. Or GameSpot.

I thought nintendo was all proud of that game with it's, "sanity meter". Meh, just less launch games for gc, and the x-box wil look better.
x-box will be the victor
Yep Raven Blade was canned. I believe Retro was developing the game and when they had their problems with Metroid had to cancel it or something like that so they could focus everything on Metroid.
why do you disagree with me when you know I'm right?
well, i bet metriod will suck, it will probibly be like mega man legonds, anyone play that? i can't see it being fun to aim at badguys that are flying in 3d, and u aim with a control stick in third person, cause more than half the metriod bad guys fly.
x-box will be the victor
WOW Raven Blade was really canned. all the news about game cube showed clips of it like it was one of thier bigest titles. bad start for game cube
hey bill reach into your pockets and grab another game for us.
apparenty the developer that was working on raven blade was also workin on metroid so they laid off the raven blade people so they could focus on metroid, if you wanna read the article just

So all of the good looking pics were of gc games I don't believe it!
XBOX RULZ
GAMECUBE SUX
NUFF SAID
the only gc screens were the ones posted by neutral, Nearly all of the raven blade pics were renders, some he claimed weren't but there's no way to prove it in any case the screens were probably not in-game, doesn't really matter know cause it's been trashed
