Please Help!!!!!

Im trying to log unto this xbconnect I heared about it from a friend and it sounds really tight... But I have a prob, I have xbox live just to let you know, but heres my problem>> After I download the xbconnect it gives me a icon on my desk top but when I click on that it just shuts off my computer???? What the heck is going here??!! I tried unistalling it and re-installing it but I just keep getting the same results..... Someone please help!!!
