wow, thats alot of xbx, I was about to start the applauding before my eyes caught the sales chart.... but that does show that ninty is being pwned. But how can you ever be proud to see Nintendo going under, they were the producers of a very popular early systems, and you are proud to see them gone!!!????

Oh come on guys, XBOX did great. i hope you realize that xbox was 179 compared to GC 99 and the fact that parents would buy the cheap stuff regardless of the potential. if you look at the software which is the most important, we totally creamed GC. GC attach rate is 1:1 a GC and Mario that is it. 3rd party publishes don't like that one bit. expect further decline in support for Ninty

so i said who has a shovel damm it answer

When Nintendo said that they were #2, it was just PR spin, they were just #2 for a few months, when the GC went down to $99 with the Zelda bundle. As a matter of fact, the XB is back at #2 in weekly sales as well and in the last two weeks of December the XB outsold the GC and almost caught the GC for the month. I'm sure that the XB will be #2 again in January. Overall, the XB is still #2 in America and Europe.

Good games is what ultimately sells a console and Nintendo's price drop was only good for a temporary spike is sales. Overall, the XB just has a much better and more diverse game line-up. Parents not in the know, bought the GC because it was cheap and they didn't know any better and they know Nintendo is "safe" for little Johnny.

Xbox is back at #2 and Ninja Gaiden, Unreal 2 and Splinter Cell: Pandora Tommorow will own anything that the GC has to offer in February and March. Then Halo 2 will just lay the smack down on the GC this summer.

Sales charts and XB vs GC software sales numbers:

Well in my store the PS2s that were sold were mostly from trade ins. I am not saying that accounts for the sales but I wonder if they count the ones that were traded in for new ones. I think the xbox did surprisingly well without some of their heavy hitters coming out this year.
