Will MS release Xbox early?

There is always the possibility they will launch a few days earlier than the cube. Possible scenario, all pre order customers will recieve the XBox a few days eariler.

It might happen just to overshadow the cubes release.

The only way that Microsoft would release it earlier against Nintendo is if the box was coming along faster than it was expected and a few days earlier could be possible. If anything isn't announced around the time of Space World then there is zilch chance of it happening.

I think the probability of getting your pre order before launch is better than not though. I say this because I got my N64 two days before its launch. Anything is possible.

It'd be a very smart move to release early. Who knows, when the final announcement as to when the xbox was going to be released, maybe they gave a bogus date just to get Nintendo thinking they're releasing before the xbox. But for this to work, it'd have to be very very hush hush at microsoft and at the stores.

i dont think it would go over well... the consumer wouldnt like it!
i mean think about it? if u r preordering, and u r paying in installments and your last installment is for lets say nov. 1st, but then they release on october 12th, not only might u not have the money but someone else could take your xbox away

Here's a history lesson, The Saturn Released early and no one new about it. Most games weren't ready and you know the rest of the story.

If Ms does an Early release, they must let the general public know and have at least 10 games ready to go.

Success in the video game industry, build up the hype and advertise.

i would rather then release early if they lowered the price! i dont mind the 450 but i mean lower is always better!

well some game same coming out before launch. So hopefully itd coem out early for the pre-orderers. even though i havent pre-ordered one YET.

The good thing about living in the UK and getting everything later is that the games will have any control and design issues worked out, and possibly the controller itself. It's not always bad to get things last..

I really don't think Microsoft is too worried about the 3 day different in the launches. If someone wants the X-Box, they'll wait 3 more days. The amount of consumers that come in those 3 days to look for a new gaming system is not important cause all the Cubes will be out of stock during that time anyway. I mean.. if you had a choice, and really wanted the X-Box, but couldn't wait the 3 extra days... Think about this for a moment here... You've saved up all your money to buy an X-Box, but are so impatient you'd spend it to buy a Cube instead? Err.. I just don't think 3 days is hurting anything, and Microsoft knows it.
