Online Multiplayer - Is this possible

Could some1 please tell me whether Microsoft's network will let you play individual players in games. This would mostly pertain to sport games.

For example, I'd love to have 16 players in Fever all playing against each other as individual players with the rest made up of computer AI. Same with basketball/nascar/soccer games etc.

I know Microsoft did talk about this once at a press conference (in relation to basketball games) but can any1 confirm this?

In the latest OXM they mention the thought of playing a football game were every player is a actual person playing.

As far as playing fever???? Ill pass, Fever is a very very weak football sim.
