XBOX Sounds Funny

My xbox has been really loud lately... should i be able to hear it from outside my room (about 10 ft away)

Its probably the dvd drive, I bet its a Thompson

Actauly, my thompson is as silent as a mouse.

It could either - be breaking down or sometimes it just needs to be dusted in all the usual places.

Mine use to be loud as hell. I just got some of that compressed air and unscrewed the case and sprayed around. It fixed my problem.

My Thomson Xbox got really loud before the DVD drive failed. For like a few weeks, the drive motor and the laser head sounds got louder and louder.
I tried cleaning it with a Pioneer DVD lense cleaner kit.
I took off the cover and cleaned the innards out with air.
Eventually the drive sputtered out.

could be the processor fan, that was the sourse of my xbox noise.

Yeah, Mine was especially loud around the Fan. The dust had built up so thick from smoking and being years old that the fan was making all types of noise being bothered by all of that dust. Mines pretty happy now.

Is there any way to stop the disc from making that chugging sound when playing halo. (mostly multiplayer on XBC)?
