    Question system link cable?

    is the system link cable the one that hooks xboxes up and if it is how do i hook it up to play with one of my friends who have an xbox do you have to have cable or the internet or dsl or something i know nothing about it and i was to lazy to look it up on the net because i knew someone here would know

    the system link cable is to hook up an xbox to an xbox not the internet
    you can have my xbox, when you pry it from my cold dead hands

    yeah i know its xbox to xbox but do you need the internet to do it? and if you do do you need dsl or some high speed internet

    no, it is a standar Ethernet CAT 5 patch cable, one to the other and you'll be up and flying

    so basically there has to be 2 xboxes in one house not to far away or something?

    pretty much, you can get a special cat 5 made at some PC stores or even get a 100 foot normal one and swap the wires, find out how different places on the net

    dang i thought you could like connect it to something in your computer or phone line or something like that and play with someone who lives near you or something like that

    You can use gamespy to play against others on the Internet. In a few more months Microsoft should have their game network ready.

    actually to hook up xbox to xbox (NO HUB) its a crossover wire, not catagory 5 wire.

    i would go on the net but i only got 56k but my connection isnt that slow but im guessing it would be slow when playing online but i donno
