I need someone to kind of show me the ropes a bit.

lol yah...my tips are:
1)Dont spray unless you can c the enemies nose hairs
2)burst fire (1-3 shot bursts)
3)aim for head...sounds easy but itcan be challenging
4)if u wanna pissem off camp with sum mines behind a door

Find a gun you are comfortable with and stick with it. Knowing how your gun fires, it's accuracy over distance and things like that is valuable.

Pick an equipment kit you like and stay with it. Always equip the gas mask and take a M203 with RP grenades for distance clearing. Whatever else is up to you.
If you know about a hostage situation, take flashbangs. They are invaluable and vital for clearing a room around a hostage.

This game is not about speed. Maybe one place at the very end speed becomes critical. But when you play the campaign, take it slow. Walk slowly and scan the area as you advance.

This is a tactical game so you have to know how to play tactical.
Crouch when you fire. Stand up to move quickly, crouch walk to advance carefully.

Lean around corners. Never walk around corners. Lean to scan and clear a corner then advnance.

If you have to shoot, never shoot in the open. When you come into a room there are two things you need to do:
Locate enemies
Locate cover.

Move to cover and crouch behind it to shoot over it, or lean around it to shoot. You should always shoot behind cover. Use grenades liberally when tangos in the room are 2 or more.

Reload frequently. Reload between engagements. Avoid reloading during a battle and always reload protected behind cover.

Look for snipers, avoid standing in front of windows of rooms you can see in, avoid loitering in front of doors you can tell leads to a new room.

Use thermals to look at wooden doors before you open them.
Always open any door carefully and slowly, using the door as cover and engage targets as you open the door. Pitch a grenade through a partially opened door and close the door. Use breach charges on doors when possible.

Use your team. Learn how to command your squad and use them as much as you can.

Play on Xbox Live as much as you can to get good at it. Prepare to die frequently until you learn the maps and learn how to become comfortable.

Play Terrorist Hunt often to develope skills in the game.

cant help ya much son... burst fire, go for head shots, and dont camp is all i can say... but ya just cant teach plain old god given skill
