Default burnt music CD-r's won't work in my xbox

i have searched the forum for answers and im just confused as to why my xbox won't read them. i have identified my drive as a samsung (2 holes in drive tray) but i have looked at my serial number and it ends in 05 (suggesting phillips). i burn them as proper audio cd's (not mp3 and wav files) and all my cd's are finalized when burnt as well.
    any ideas?

Some xboxs just can't read some types of media. My xbox could read rw but not -r. I don't know why....reads my dvd+r just fine as well.

Use CD-RW's and you won't have a problem at all.

i do own most of the cd's i have, the burnt ones are backups of ones that i still own but don't work because friends have borrowed them and they don't work now (like the first disc of "chocolate starfish and the hotdog flavoured water")

well its allowed and it is true this time (my friend lost the case and put it in his school bag without a case which meant it got so scratched it was barely playable which would spoil listening to it a lot) and it is the special version (2 cd)
