Yes and no. You get free access to the XBL marketplace and some other pointless stuff but you don't get to play any games online. Theres supposed to be some free trial weekends where XBL Silver people get the same benefits of XBL gold members but thats only when MS decides to give people a taste in order to get them to fork over the cash.
