wireless xbox 360 connection

hey

im kind of stuck. i want to connect my xbox 360 to my wireless router, but i dont want to shell out 90 for the offical 360 adapter(regardless im 3 stories up, i dont know if it would have the range) right now i have my computer connected with a hawking hi-gain wireless usb adapter, and i was thinking of just plugging it into the xbox, but i doubt ill be able to bring my drivers over onto the 360(even though the xbox has the ports for a flash drive, im sure its locked) Is there a plug and play usb wireless adapter that i can use to connect the xbox to the network, or is there something else i can try?

I'm not sure which ones work, but other people have had success with various USB wireless adapters. I'm not sure if Microsoft will help point you in the right direction since they make the competing product.

From a similar topic, which yields the same answer...I have no clue which, if any, USB adapters work, but these all do:

The adapter for the original Xbox will work, along with any number of similar devices available. Here's a selection of them from Dlink, Linksys, Netgear and Belkin. There's a good number of other brands out there too. Just look for a "Ethernet Bridge" or "Wireless Bridge". Given that you're not running a dedicated T3 fibre line or any such, you won't notice any difference in your gaming if you buy a 'G' or 'B' bridge. It will only affect the speed that you can transfer files to and from your computer. Some models may give you better range, but there's no telling which, and that mostly comes down to your router's quality anyway.

thanks, this is what i ended up doing:
i bought a ten dollar ethernet card, threw it in the back of the computer and used the cat5 cable that comes with the xbox and wired the 360 to the computer. set up a local network, and since my computer is already connected to the wireless internet downstairs i was good to go.
