Default Anyone noticing performance issues lately in Oblivion?

Well I started over three times (once cuz I didn't like my race, once cuz i started a new character and it autosaved over my character I put 15+ hours into, and another one cuz my major skills weren't right) and for some reason now, I'm getting insane load times (both when entering a new area and just a different segment of the world), the game freezes for 3 secs. whenever I jump into water, and all this just started. Is my X360 startin to suck out or is this common? another thing too, this all happened after i did the cold boot.

When booting up the game, hold "A" on your controller. This will clear out the cache for the Oblivion saves on the 360. Should help your problem.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one experiencing this! Thanks for the tip on clearing the cache...hopefully that does the trick. I'll let you know if it does.

The PC version of this game is reported to be the most instable. That or PC guys are just more honest than the X360 fellas. Oddly enough, my Oblivion has yet to crash or lock up on me.

I have and have played on both PC and 360. I can honestly say that my 360 blows away my pc (3.4GHz P4/x800XL/2GB DDR2) in everything by load times, which are a fair bit longer on the 360. The most noticeable thing missing on my 360 though is HDR, which my card is a gen too low to support. I'll have more to say when my x1900xt arrives.

Stability wise, I really haven't had any problems, except when I changed the loadinbackground setting in my ini file, which caused some areas to not load. Frame rate is pretty smooth at my current graphical settings, but if I try and turn it up, it just eats my graphics card for lunch.
