wireless xbox 360 controller not working

my 360 wireless controller will conect and i will be able to play for about 15 secs then it disconects and starts searching for the xbox 360 again. then its dies again in 10 secs ......... ive changed the batterys, tried using the plug and play cord thing. anyone have any ideas on how to fix it

i think you need to sync it with your 360

press the little white button on your 360 on the front and then press a button on top of your controller that looks the same, then wait a bit and it should work

dude i did read it, same thing happened to my new controller when i forgot to sync it


fine, if it dont work, take it back

it helps when i READ the posts instead of skimming them............missed the part about theh white button the the 360 itself, not just the one on the controller. so i had a question but answer it.............

I did the same thing when I got my 360. I started playing it, then the controller would stop and start searching. I forgot to synch it to the console. I kept thinking.. "what crap is this?"

even after hitting both sync buttons i can't get my controller to connect.. not on my nor a friend's console. only thing i can think of is that the batteries died while i was playing once... has that ever ruined anyone else's controller?
