I don't have an exact number, but it's 900+ for sure.
Damn, it's somewhat upsetting to think that I have over a grand invested in pop-art plastic. But oh well. Everyone needs a hobby and mine is collecting gaming memorabilia.
I blame Microsoft. If I hadn't gone to Zero Hour I probably wouldn't be a faceplate collector.

You had to be 18 to go to Zero Hour and a bunch of the winners were under that. I knew they'd have room, so I contacted one of the MGS Community people (Arne) who stuck his head in the forums once in a while. I told him I thought he's have a lot of empty chairs and that a friend of mine and I wanted to go. He got us press passes and we had the run of the place. I think that was a consideration when they made nominations for the MVP thing, too. We stuck our necks out.

If you want something, don't be timid. You've got nothing to lose. If you get told "no," you've lost nothing. But if you get a "yes," well you wouldn't have had it if you didn't ask, ja?

I spent well over a thousand dollars I didn't have to spend, on faceplates last year. I'm over $300 and it's only January.

Stupid crystal plate. Which I got today, by the way.

I haven't spent much so far, I'm under $100 spent on faceplates.

    $110 on Kasumi
    $140 on Trusty Bell
$250 for IdolM@ster LE set (with game and plate and figs)
    $75 for Chromehounds
    $50 for Qee with figures
    $70 for Gorillaz
$100 for You Are Next. I think.
    $80 for Amsterdam
$100 for Avril and Joss signed plates

    and countless plates for $20-$40.

That's off the top of my head. I didn't go into the room and look at the wall or I'd remember some more.

    So far in January:
    Crystal Plate: $180
NASCAR 08: $45 (with game, though)
    Call of Duty 4: $45
    WWE Triple H: $16
    Stuntman: $40
    Rainbow Six: Vegas: $45

NASCAR and Triple H are on the way, R6:V and Stuntman went to Elite who's forwarding them to me.

I am in the same boat as you except I know I have shelled out over $3000. If I wasn't so lazy I would add it all up and get the exact figure but I really don't feel like it. Heck we are barely into 2008 and I have already spent over $1000 (that includes shipping costs as well as the cost of the actual plate). I am still waiting for all the plates to come in before I take some pics and update my collection.

Man I'm really afraid to tally up what I spent in 2007. The better part of my collection was purchased in 2007 and the more I think about it the higher the total goes.
