What new stuff'll be in Shenmue 2 SE? I heard there will be English dubbing, instead of Japenese.

    Cool

I know that Shenmue 2 is supposed to take full advantage of the Xbox's power.I can't wait for the game to be released.I finished the dc version and that game totally rocked!I'm getting Part 2 for dreamcast in the mail today or tomorrow.I'm also going to get the xbox version(of course) when it is released.

but how do you know that? there is no way of knowing. there has been no offical word at all. i really dont think it will take any longer than may. REASONS

1: the game is already made exept for what few things they add
2: they said the english voices were already made on dc and they said they started recording them on the 21 of december.
3: they owe us some very vast speed for cancelling it on dc in US.
4: like i said there has been no word at all so i dont see how everyone is saying fall.

i REALLY REALLY hope they mention it at gamejam on march 30th... guess we will wait some more..

    HEY YO!

Im not c0cky or anything ... well, actually I am But im a Sega diehard and I know what im talking about little trooper.
When Sega announced last year than Shenmue II was cancelled in the US market they as well as Microsoft offically said it wont be shipped until fall/winter 2002 for the holiday season. Wheather the game is ready or not is illrelivent. And I think it's best to ship a franchise like this come the holidays to battle da compo!

Now, I've never played Shenmue II, but, I have heard that it's an awesome game. I have a guy that I work part-time with that has the imported Shenmue II on his Dreamcast and he says it's awesome. But, one of the things he told me about it really gave me a bad taste. He said that it's an RPG game and that you can get a job moving freight and stuff.

In my case, I don't recall ever playing a full-fledged RPG. Personally, I like action games whether it be racing, first person shooters, etc.... I guess I don't find that getting a job to move freight all that appealing.

So, my question is, what makes Shenmue II all that great!? If you don't have Shenmu II, then, how about the original Shenmue!?

Your friend at your job must own da original Shenmue on DC, cause I own the imported Shenmue II and you dont have no job moving freights. That's the 1st Shenmue junior!
And where did you get this RPG stuff from? In no way is Shenmue I or II RPG type!
The first one was good, but Shenmue II is a classic!
After I beat the last part either tonight or tomorrow im gonna post my impressions. And it's gonna be 2 sweeeeeeeeeeeeet!

Dude, Ninja...you are the only person I have ever heard that actually said that Shenmue 1 and 2 are not RPGs. If they are not RPGs, then, what are they?

It has RPG eliments in it but nothing to consider it anything like an RPG. In fact, the creator/director of Shenmue titles his game in a gerne of it's own called "F.R.E.E"

cant remember off the top of my head what is stands for but RPG is not included waxy. I can get the definition if you want it my faithful wimpy waxy side kick!

Shenmue II .. I got two words- Classic, Masterpiece.

I don't know what you would classify Shenmue as...but all I know is that Shenmue I is awesome. I'm still playing through it..everytime I play it's like being in a movie where you control the main character. I love looking through drawers and such everywhere...and I'm addicted to buying toy capsules

I finished Shenmue and really enjoyed it but I've yet to play the sequel (I have it but just haven't got 'round to it yet).
Now, the weird thing I found about the first one is that although I am a big fan of FPSs and other all-action games one of my favourite parts of the game was working as a forklift truck driver. It's weird I know but that part of the game was strangely satisfying (helped by the fact that first thing every morning all the forklift drivers had a race around the docks).

Another great part was going down the arcade to play video games and also buying games to take home and play on the characters Saturn (very surreal but fun).
