    Hi everyone,

    I am new here, I stumbled upon this web site while searching for information about a faceplate I recently purchased. I just recently got into repairing 360's. I've brought two back to life, although one still has a disk drive problem . So if anyone has any tips on how to fix a open tray problem, send them my way!

    Not sure what else to say, but I am glad I found such a great resource for Xbox addicts.

    welcome to XBA, glad that you stumbled upon the site and have decided to stick around. Hope to see you on the boards and good luck on your 360 repairs. Sounds like that open tray issue is a bad CD Rom to be replaced/swapped out...

    Well I can help with anything related to Xbox repairs lol. The problem you're having is some part of the disc drive that is malfunctioning. To fix it you have to find out which disc drive it is and buy an exact replacement. But be careful, taking on this operation involves soldering, you absolutely have to know what you're doing to replace the drive. It involves replacing the PCB found within the old drive and putting it in the new one. It sounds simple but it's not very easy.
