I do not understand why sony does go to pay per play format and use the funds to put better network security and stability on their online platform....I do not have any issues paying even 10 dollars a month to play xbox live

    Old news.

What's new news is that SOE, Sony's PC online environment was also compromised and has also been shut down.

Guess that free service isn't lookin' so hot, now.

There are hearings scheduled for either today or tomorrow in congress over this. Apparently sony is going to have to answer some questions to congress over when sony notified the public of the breach, what actions have they taken since, and more. The fbi and dept. of homeland security are also involved now bc of the rumored 2.2 million cc #'s, the 3 digit security codes, email adds., full mailing adds., and telephone #'s that have been stolen. Sony originally claimed that no info was taken but now it looks like the attackers caught sony in a lie (pending its true about the list). Apparently sony was offered a chance to buy the list but refused. Whether or not this is true, it doesn't look good for the ps brand. Already there are talks about over 20% of the psn gamers going w xbl. I guess time will tell what the truth really is.

I don't know about you, but I'll still use my PS3, except, now I will use money cards like I do on the 360 for points.
