    Default Games in 1080i?

Anyone know when games will start showing up supporting 1080i?

Rumored games so far are Test Drive and Sega GT 2002.

Otherwise none at the moment. Every game does support 480p though and about a dozen support widescreen(16x9).

These games support 16x9 so far:

    Amped
    Azurik
    DOA3
    F1 2001
    Madden 2002
    Nascar Heat
    Nascar Thunder
    Rallisport Challenge
    SSX Tricky

I would add that most Xbox games actually look pretty good stretched. But I would still rather see more support for widescreen.

What is this 1080i setting? I've been searching through the control panel thing on the xbox, but I can't find it!

It is a high definition setting. It will only show up if the xbox is connected using component cables which would require an HDTV or a set that has componet connections.

This capability is one of the reasons why I decided to buy the Xbox but no game developers have even put out a game that supports it yet. It would be great because you are basically getting twice the resolution. 1080 lines vs. 480 lines on a normal set. This would mean, less jaggies, more detail and a crisper picture....if you have an HDTV.

I noticed amped was on that list. Amped looks totally horrible on my TV. (16:9)

Hmmm, Amped is one of the best looking games I've seen so far that is 16x9. The menus look like crap(lots of jaggies) but the actual game is beautiful and I have it blown up to 110". Not sure why it would look bad on yours.

Not sure. I used to have the same TV as maximus but i returned it for the new 47" samsung tantus. Amped during the game has lots of jaggies.. I have the xbox set on widescreen, and480 720 and 1080 are set to yes. Cable quality only affects color right? I'm using the component cables that came with the high def pack.

Define 'alot'. I mean, you will still be able to see jaggies but by my definition it isn't alot.

What could be happening is that your tv is automatically converting a 480p signal to 1080i and that is creating your extra jaggies. Or we are seeing the same thing and you are alot more picky than me.

I'm probably just too picky. Still though would getting the monster cables do anything to improve image or just color?

Amped looks phenominal on my HDTV Widescreen! It blows my mind in regards to visual clarity! I can only drool with what 1080i is going to look like!!

    Maximus,

Sorry but Halo is only 4x3. No widescreen support but it is one of those titles that looks pretty good even stretched.

    El Pollo Loco,

You might want to try getting some better component cables but before you spring for the monster 400x grab some RCA's high shielded from like Target for around $12. If you still have the problem then it isn't because of the cables. Of course to be sure you can swap out the HD A/V pack too but if it is just in Amped then I don't think that is the problem.
