Official Xbox Magazine has said in it's latest issue (April) that GTAIII will be released for the Xbox. I don't have the issue with me (I'm at work), but while it did not have a release date, it did say it was coming out.

When in the world did I ever say I hated GTA3?????? I want it to come to XBox just as much as anyone else. I just dont think that anyone from Microsoft. or any other publication other then take 2, telling us is any sort of proof. I just dont want all of us to get our hopes up, and post thread after thread when nothing is really concrete about it. Thats all. I owned a dreamcast. They would announce game after game and we all know MANY of them did not come out. Not to say that XBox will go the way of dc, which it won't. But I learned my lesson. Sorry if i offended anyone with my GTA3 flames.
