Halo's story...

ok please nobody flame me, but if anyone has the time to give me a link or explain this to me please do. What was the first halos story and backstory, i would like to know it becuase i have never played halo 1. (well i have played it but not the campaign). so if anyone can help me get to know the story better please help me. and not only that but if there is any revieled story from halo 2 please tell me that too. and not stry like MC saves eart then blows up covie planet, i know that but im talking about background story and things like that. im sure many of you know all the story and everything.

There's more to the story than Halo, but I'm not in the mood to explain the entire thing, so here's what happens on Halo. Masterchief, Cortana, Captain Keyes, and a ton of Marines, weapons, ammunition, and vehicles are all aboard the Pillar of Autumn starship, trying to escape the covenant, but the covenant catch them. Everyone except Keyes abandons the ship and lands on Halo in escape pods, but Keyes brings the Pillar of Autumn onto Halo and lands it there. He luckily survives, but is captured by the covenant.

Masterchief goes through a level saving the stranded marines, then goes through a level in which he boards a covenant cruiser called the Truth and Reconciliation. There, he finds Captain Keyes and saves him. Cortana finds out that Halo is actually a giant weapon built by the forerunners, and Captain Keyes and some marines go out in search of how to activate it, while masterchief goes a different way. Cortana then finds out that Halo isn't a weapon, its actually a fortress that holds something, something bad. She instructs Masterchief to stop the captain immediately, but it is too late.

The flood are released, and Masterchief has a new enemy. From there on out, Masterchief is basically trying to escape Halo and destroy the flood. Captain Keyes was captured by the flood and turned into a flood, and Masterchief was forced to kill him. Masterchief boards the Pillar of Autumn which is now under Covenant/Flood control, and activates the core of the Autumn to explode, causing a nuclear meltdown and destroying Halo. He boards a jet, fly's off of Halo, and Halo explodes.

-Cortana is an artificial intelligence that masterchief carries around with him throughout the game.

-Captain Keyes is the captain of the Pillar of Autumn, and basically the leader of everything that happens on Halo.

-The Flood are these nasty little creatures that take their little tentacles and stick them inside of human/covenant bodies, thus controlling the bodies and using them to attack humans/covenant. They kill both the humans and the covenant, and don't seem to have a purpose other than to spread.

-The covenant are the alien forces that the humans fight in the game. Masterchief basically kicks their asses throughout the game, since they are easier to kill than the Flood. The only hard covenant to kill would be the Elites, because they have body shields like Masterchief and are strong and agile.

That's basically all the characters/enemies that you need to know.

hey i got a question too thats been bothering me when i paly halo... umm where keyes is captured by the flood and he is turned into one... what did MC pull out of keyes?

nice so the halo books i saw that there were actually three of them, do they go along exactly like the game? cuz i might get all three and read them. they look pretty good. at amazon.com you can read the first chapter of each. so i did and it semmed interesting.

Get The Fall of Reach and First Strike, Halo: The Flood is just a recap of what happens on Halo, is written by a different author, and is IMO, the worst of the 3.

If I remember correctly, I believe he pulled out the neural implants that Keyes had in his Brain. Not exactly sure what they are for, but my best guess would be so that the covenant could not find them and use them in some way to find earth.

I think that if you haven't played Halo, wait to play Halo 2. Period. It's like a prerequisite. This is because Halo is story driven, so playing the sequel without playing the initial would be confusing and ruin the story experience for you. But, if you don't care about the story (although it appears you do) go ahead and play Halo 2. If you really want to get down and dirty with Halo's story, here are the best resources you can find. I suggest you read them all (don't read the speculation underneath the main subject of these pages):

ok i just watched the entire halo videogame lol. without the cutscenes you really dont know whats going on. though i will search the internet for all halo cutscenes and watch them. and i already read all the info zero thanks A LOT!

How did you watch the entire Halo videogame?

from the Vids that zero gave me man. i watched all the gameplay from eevry level, though i want to watch all the Cut scenes so i can understand more.
