Date reviewed: September 12, 2005.

Overall: The game isn't that great. If you've played a game where you go through it and just kill things then this is exactly like what you've played but just with a different look. The game is fun for a little while and you just wanna beat it but once you're done you're done. Theres no playing it again.
Gameplay: Basically this game is just a swing your weapon and kill whatever is in sight type game. It is fun to kill zombies non stop but there is nothing else added to the game to make it great. The story is ok at its very best and has simple controls so anybody could play but there is nothing innovative or really fun to this game. It is just like the rest of its mindless killing brother games with its own look and thats about it.
Graphics: The game looks ok I guess. Not too much depth and attention put into the surroundings though. Each thing serves its purpose but there isn't detail and not a whole lot of interaction with the environment added into the game like smashing things. The main characters each are different and have a unique look and ways of killing but that isn't enough. That is expected.
Sound: Groans, weapons swinging, dieing... that's about it for the sound departement. Again it has the basics but nothing more was added that makes this game a step above the rest of its kind.

Overall: L-O-U-S-Y! Need more? OK how about press your right trigger button about a thousand times in 10 minutes and then press pause to get the blood flowing in your own arm? Sound like fun trigger happy people? If so, it's for you. Felt like more of a workout than a game so get jacked up on caffeine and go for it or else you don't have a chance... Not for me, I'd rather use my brain than my thumb muscles - at least for this...
Gameplay: Well I was handicapped in that I rented and did not get to review the manual... Soooo, I was not sure what to do except hack away for hours and try to figure it out. I did get it wired after about what seems like a million swings of an axe as the gun is nearly worthless and the camera makes it hard to aim. I think I need new springs in my right trigger button...
Graphics: Would be OK if the camera were better. It made me dizzy trying to follow the action. I did like the pan in views when I'd wax a boss but overall I like a different camera angle. It's like the sky cam on ESPN for their football broadcasts if you've ever seen that you can relate to watching things about 20 feet above where they are taking place.
Sound: Moans and groans from the undead sound OK but get old after a while. Music is fast paced and semi-haunting so it goes with the content pretty well. About what I expected but nothing spectacular.
Suggestions: Glad I rented it. Not very intuitive and as I mentioned earlier is more of a workout than a game. If you drink a bunch of coffee and eat a few candy bars so you're all jacked up with energy then you may crush this game other than that you need to pause it and get a rub down on your whole arm! Ouch! Make it more intuitive for the rental audience as you won't sell many with this type of review out there I'd suppose. Maybe I'm wrong and your rich beyond your wildest dreams - bet not. Better listen up.

Overall: Simply awesome. It's very fun. Gets addicting. It has great music. It has great graphics. My advice is buy it.
Gameplay: Gameplay has only one flaw, and that is the camera angles suck. But who cares i'm still gonna give gameplay a five because the game is awesome
Graphics: Graphics are awesome. It's awesome when you can fight up 40(i think) zombies at a time. The graphics aren't as good as DOA 3 but they're still good.
Sound: simply put the sound is worth a 5. The gun and zombie sound effects are awesome. The music is perfect for this game but you can't play your music on your hard drive.

Overall: the game is oki because the grahpics are good and its long enough,, but the game play wwas'nt the best.you shuld have been able to pick more characters in the game and more weapons.
Gameplay: the gameplay is ok the chararacters die to fast.the guns are not that effective.Other than that the gameplay is good.
Graphics: the visual is great the graphics are above average the hunterand the monsters look great.i really like the graphics on this game.
Sound: the sound is good.but there should be more sound when you kill the monster. ithink should have beenable to use a soundtrack.
Suggestions: i think you should make a seqeul no doubt. it will be a great game.

The Terminator
Date reviewed: December 25, 2003.

Overall: This game is cool. Think of Gauntlet, with blood, a storyline, and really cool enemies. Plus, there is a chainsaw for which to spill blood forth from the really cool enemies. You also have guns, some of which require ammo, and the other one, which is your primary weapon, which while weaker than the other ammo-munching weapons, is a great way to dispense of your foes. You can also pistol whip your enemies, so that's always fun. Unfortunately, the game winds up becoming repetitive, and has little replay value, unless you got some friends over, in which case, you'll still have a lot of fun.
Gameplay: Hack and shoot. That would be the most effective way to describe the gameplay. If you're not slicing and dicing, you're splattering cherry pie all over the behind of your enemies. The enemies conist primarily of zombies, and more zombies. However, you do get the occasional weird enemy such as a slaughtered cow zombie or a demonic teddy bear. Once again, it eventually gets reptitive after you've beaten it around 3 times unfortunately.
Graphics: Cool visuals. Everything looks good, except for the cutscenes, they should have used actual movies instead of just manipulating the in game environment, and zooming into character's faces.
Sound: Sounds are great. Everything that needs to be there is there, and none of the sounds are annoying, or off place.
Suggestions: Release the hidden codes!!! Add more characters too, that would make the game have more replay value, and give ppl some selection when 4 ppl are playing at the same time.

Overall: A very creepy game, complete with a great story and characters that all have a great stake and unique contribution to the gameplay strategy.
Gameplay: The controls are...interesting, you think at first play they won't work, but it surprisingly helps in your quest. The creatures are frequent enough to up your urgency and the bosses can be a pain yet making their defeats that much more satisfying.
Graphics: Great level design, downright grisly bosses and nice edge affects. The camera could use some work butI guess it adds to the difficulty.
Sound: Very nice, with each creature type being able to be distinguished as soon as you hear it on screen. The voices, while not great, fit the characters and cut scenes.
Suggestions: Haven't played the sequal yet, but I know the sequal will make the needed improvements.

Graphics: the graphics are wonderful i loved them it is really the high point of this title. i cant wait for the next installment of this game i will give it a go again
Sound: another good area of the game i think kinda fit the mood of the game. only bad part is at times it helped bore me didnt make me want to go out and shoot the dead

Overall: This was a good game but I was hopeing for the game to be better when 4 of us were playing. But dang, I had a hard time beating it by myself with 20+ lives going into it toward the end. No way can you have 4 players make it toward the end with 20+ lives, but the game is ok.
Gameplay: Button smasher with the same combo moves and specials moves. But the story is weak and the game does get very difficult.
Graphics: Not bad graphics, but they also do not blow my mind. They are decent graphics that I can deal with.
Sound: Ok sound and ok music. The voices freaked me out at first and they did a good job. I am looking foward to the next one but at the same time I wish they did not make a second one

Graphics: The visuals were ok. could be worse, probably a bit better. it was all planed out, so you couldnt see where you were going sometimes. but thats gameplay techinically

Overall: Rented this one and played with a buddy for about 6 hours. Glad I rented it first. I was caught up in the hype, but to me the game did not measure up. I found it very average. While we were playing my adrenaline pumped a few times, but the bosses required running away from them and firing for what seemed like forever. It was more tedious than challenging.

Once we stopped playing, I didn't use the game again for 3 days until I returned it. No big winner here, still waiting...
Gameplay: I found the gameplay repetitive although with the special weapon abilities you can get more proficient and "fancy" about killing the zombies. The camera was good, not many problems though in multi-player you can often get caught in a tough spot if you don't stay close together.
Graphics: I found the graphics just average. The cut scenes were about the same. Nothing stood out. The monsters were unique and fairly detailed.
Sound: Didn't notice the soundtrack much, but when I did it had an appropriate heavy metal/industrial feel to it.
Suggestions: Hard to say why this game felt so repetitive - I probably would've prefered a first-person perspective.

Overall: One of the best games this year, so far!! Its an all-around winner, great gameplay! sound! and Graphics!!
Gameplay: Great control of the characters, good moves, although sometimes the camera angles are off, but excellect gameplay! I like Oddworld's camera angle's and movement since i can move it around, this is where Hunter lacks a bit.

The fun REALLy starts cranking when you play with friends.. wow!! multi-player co-op!!
Graphics: Great visuals!! Excellent fog and lighting effects.. Smooth graphics, and the blood and gore surely gets you off your feet!
Sound: I have a 5.1 audio system using the optical out, and boy does it sound AWSOME!! You can hear everything crystal clear!!
Suggestions: Add more characters to choose from, and fix that camera angle, which sometimes blocks your characters view (this is a minor suggestion).

The graphics are a little choppy in the first level but the rest of the game is PERFECT.

Gameplay: The gameplay is great.. it took me about 15-25 minutes to feel comfortable with the controls but once you learn them its really fun.
Graphics: The graphics were great and one of the best things was how the fog looked so real in the graveyard. All of the zombies and the hunters look great down to every detail.
Sound: The sound was terrific also.. there were ofcourse all the zombie moans but also the sound of the bullets cutting through the flesh and the ax slicing through the z
Suggestions: You guys did a terrific job and the game, and i hope to see more like it soon.

Overall: Hunter: The Reckoning is a great action as well as adventure game. Great graphics and goo storyline. All environments look creep and real. Hard to defeat bosses and tough tasks make the game challenging. Good challenging! All four characters have special powers that affect different monsters and zombies. Some characters are slow but very strong while others are agile and keen but not very powerful. This game is very fun and entertaining!!!This game is great!!!Good graphics, good sound, good gameplay, and good storyline!!!!!I can't wait for the sequel!!!
Gameplay: The gameplay is great in this game. You fight numrous amounts of zombies and ghosts. You are supplied with many diverse guns such as shotguns and machine guns. You can also attach enemies with deadly weapons such as a chainsaw and flamethrower!
It's awesome!!!You can choose from 4 characters. Judge is powerful and agile (My favorite), Avenger is very strong but slow, the Martyr is very keen ang agile but weak, and the Defender is quick and aggressive. Each have their own unique abilities that can help you throughout the game.
A lot of action is involved. Hordes of zombies attack you making the game fun and challenging. There are 20 different types of monsters making your enemies diverse and having to deal with each of their abilities. Adventure is also involved in the game. You may find supplies you need and save innocent citizens.
Graphics: Very good graphics! Every environment is very detailed and lloks dark ans scary making you expect anything. Characters are also very detailed . The camera is also good.....at time. I sometimes get annoyed because I'm trying to shoot some bad guy and you don't een know where to aim because you can't see him. The same problem on multiplayer because you share the same screen.
Sound: Sound was ok. Creepy noises made me jump at times. Monster cries were good and so were character remarks but I still felt as though it needed a little more work. Don't get me wrong though.....it's still a great game!
Suggestions: Adjusting the camera a little. Keep it third person though. I like it when you can see the little character walking around. Other than that....you guys did a great job!!!You kept me entertained and made me have fun....which I think should be every game developer's goal. Thank you for such a great game!

Overall: This is a good multiplayer game. Not much depth but what do you expect from a hack and slash game. Its fun, addicting, and can be frustrating at times later in the game.
Gameplay: Basically you and up to three other players set out to fight numerous battles where you will be grossly outnumbered over several large levels. This requires mastering the controls which isn't easy for some people but a must if you plan on defeating the game. Learning to strafe and shoot at the same time is the most important tactic in this game. I'll be honest I only beat this game by myself which was great but not as fun as playing with my wife and two step sons. Problem is my wife isn't the greatest gamer and pretty much uses up all the extra lives we acquire making it real difficult to get far in the game. Even if your a good gamer there are places in the game that will rob you of your lives its just that hard at times. The story is above average and does a good job of linking the levels together. Overall Hunter is a very good game and can be a lot fun with four players.
Graphics: Good detail, flawless framerate even with four players and the screen full of zombies, and good animation. With more than one player the camera can at times be difficult but it isn't anything major.
Sound: Good sound effects and music. The music will kick in during the heat of battle to kick up the intensity with heavy guitar riffs. The voice acting is well done during the cut scenes.

Overall: One of my favorite multiplayer games is, in fact, Hunter: The Reckoning. Great graphics, an exhilerating soundtrack, and fun gameplay all come together to form a great game.
Gameplay: Hunter is one fun game. Sure, the gameplay is repetitive, but it is so fun. Whether playing with friends or flying solo, you're in for a treat. The challenge level isn't very high in single player. You can get through the game losing only a few lives. As more and more players join in, the number and difficulty level of the enemies increases almost exponentially. Be sure you experience the multiplayer. My one gripe is the camera. It is terrible, but only occaisonially does it really affect the gameplay.
Graphics: Drab colors, but beauiful characters, textures, and effects. If you like good graphics and the color brown, this game is for you. I really can't find anything wrong with the graphics, and the framerate never lets up.
Sound: Incredible, heart-pumping soundtrack by Coma keeps you on the edge of your seat. Great ambient noises and sound effects help bring this score up. The voice acting and the cut-scene sounds are off, but they still sound good when you hear them.
Suggestions: You're already making a sequel, so I have no suggestions.

Overall: Ok, in multiplayer mode for about the first hour, this game was interesting, but it got lame REALLY fast. In single player mode it was worse. (and this is coming from someone who is a huge fan of WhiteWolf and the entire Vampire genre). I like to kill monsters as much as the next guy, but it gets old after a while. No strategy, no interaction, and no way to change the camera view. I would not buy this game if it were for $10.00, let alone $50.00! Still, I tried to give it a chance, and played, and played and played, trying to beat it. I didn't die, and after 5000 kills I still wasn't done, can you say boring?
Gameplay: As many have said before, "ow, my trigger finger feels like it is going to fall off", whether in melee or gun mode, there wasnt much more to do than hack, slash and shoot, it might as well have been an old Atari game, because all you needed was the oldschool joystick with the button to play this game (ok, I'm exagerating, but so what?) Kill the monsters, pick up the weapons and powerups, go to the symbol.....oh and maybe rescue some stupid people who got in your way (or find a lame skeleton)....woohoo, this is a high-brow game worthy of my attention. At least they gave me different guns to play with along the way, perhaps the game's only saving grace. And what was up with that level where I had to protect the little girl while running through the graveyard? That was lame. Still, the lamest was those mutant monsters in the hospital? Vampires and zombies don't shoot acid out of their disfigured arms or blow up when they hit you. Did White Wolf endorse this?
Graphics: Graphics were decent, environments were not bad looking either (I liked that you could break glass and stuff). The characters also looked human, excentric, but human, far better than the cubic graphics of some other games out there, their motions were better as well. Still, some of the monsters were laughable at best (especially the shotgun toting guards at the prison). Still, I have to give credit, 70,000+ manhours to create this game, it looked good, that was about it though.
Sound: Slash, growl, grunt, bang, burn, explode, scream, oooh, I'm impressed. Ok, so there was some dialogue too, by that freaky looking guy who enjoyed cursing in the church and the different heroes....no complaints there, but how about some diversity? I know that a zombie isn't supposed to talk or feel pain, hence he is shot, his head falls off and he keeps coming, but how about some more sound FX? I guess when you are making a 1-dimensional game, you don't worry too much about the little things.
Suggestions: More characters, better attributes (edges), more interaction/strategy, the ability to change camera angles, choose which skills to upgrade with xp. And definately fix the situation in multiplayer where if a character dies and his buddy beats the level, the other player must start from scratch. That is total BS.

Overall: Fun, great graphics, swords, guns, lots of blood... Great game :P (Cost me about 15 bucks so I have no reason not to tell my honest opinion)
The only real drawback is the short length.. (about 4- 8 hours)
Gameplay: The controls seemed a little strange at first but after I got used to them (`bout 30 min) they felt great. It`s really fun to play, it has loads of blood and monsters and puts a grin on my face everytime I play it. Although it can get repetitive, it`s one of those games you can just bring out from time to time to get some variation between the deeper titles. Great fun!
Graphics: Nice, crisp graphics, clear textures and detailed monsters. The way the blood sprays on the ground looks great. The animation could have been a little better though...
Sound: Pretty good soundFX... The sound of a sword chopping a zombie in half just makes you smile. The music is also pretty good... Esteban Cortez sounds a little gay though..
Suggestions: Make the next one longer...And add some more combos and stuff

Gameplay: I've played this game quite a bit. It helps a lot that they have the 2 player co-op mode. I had lots of fun with this. It is repetitive but whatever.
Graphics: Graphics were pretty good. NOt the best since it's a 3rd person view and it's a lil far away. However they are pretty good nonetheless.

Overall: This game is awesome!! Forget about the guy who reviewed this before me, he just doesn't appreciate a good game. This game isn't that fun by yourself, which is probably how he played it. This is most fun with friends, especially with 4 players.
Gameplay: Very easy to learn and very easy to master. The controls are simple and responsive. I would like to see some new moves though, and have it so that when a special move is upgraded, it changes the look of the move itself.
Graphics: This game has excellent visuals. The environments and especially the characters and weapons are very detailed. The frame rate is very stable. However, I would like to see levels with more free-roaming capabilities.
Sound: I would like some better sound. Some more flesh cutting noises and grunts and have the characters talk to each other and taunt the enemies more. Add some new characters with some new voices, and make the monsters say things to you.
Suggestions: I need more characters!! Why only 4? Add at least 4 more for the new one, or maybe 6 more. Then also add 4-6 more unlockable characters. Have each character with 2 starting outfits and 2 or 3 unlockable ones. Also, have an unlockable stronger default weapon. Make the game longer with larger, more free roaming levels. Add an 8 player cooperative through system link and Xbox Live. Continue to improve gameplay, visuals, and sound, and Hunter 2 will be awesome.

Overall: The game itself has a good story line even though it is confusing and also the weapons rock. There are so many limbs that you can chop off or shoot off that the game is basicly endless in fun except for when you die which makes u not want to play again because you have to start all over which is a real hassel besides everything is great but the graphics could use a touch up with the xbox engines power but with over 30 enimies it's pretty descent.
Gameplay: The game rocks with over 15 weapons that you can find and you have a weapon with infinite ammo which is pretty cool. I also like how you get experinced up and get level ups which make you stronger and usually a new special which are very useful. There's only one downside which is that the victims that are getting hit by the zombies or other creatures can die or get badly injured so if they die you lose which kind of sucks.
Graphics: The graphics are pretty good but they could of made it way better with xbox but it was made a little while ago. But having over 30 enemies on the screen at once with pretty good graphics rocks.
Sound: You get so into the game when all the zombies come all the time so the music doesn't really stick out but when you get into a big fight you can hear some pretty good tecno.s
Suggestions: A little better graphics and a few more people and your set for number 2.

Overall: Tis a good renter at most. It was fun for about two or three days, but the the repetitiveness of this title makes me want to hurl.
Gameplay: Crappy one player. Ok cooperatively. Killing undead things is the point of the game. It is what you do every level. On and on and on with killing the monsters. You gain experience and eventually improve your skills. But if you die in a level and a friend beats it you lose all you xp for the whole game, which just kinda sorta really sucks extremely bad. The weapons are ok i guess. I dont suppose they really could make them better, in a overhead game such as this. I have to take a half point for the worst camera angles of ever seen in a game, on one player, and coop. If you are looking for nice smooth extensive gameplay, and buy this game, its like laying in the middle of the freeway hoping not to get ran over.
Graphics: Excellent graphics for an overhead game. The character models arent that great, and neither are the enemies. The weapons also look fairly bad. But the scenery is very nice and the bosses look good. The cut scenes absolutely disgust me. Their mouths dont flow with the words, and well....the cut scenes just suck, you would have to see it yourself to know how bad they are. Yes yes, blood and gore is ok. It basically just splatter all over the ground the same way every time, but that is good i guess.
Sound: Music is cool. Coma. Metal. Yes good music for this type of game. Voices dont really blend in with the characters though. The weapons sound like what they should sound like i guess, but all the enemies sound the same. I sometimes dont even hear footsteps when walking, which is unappealing sound-wise.
Suggestions: Try a totaly new concept for a game.

SubZero

Overall: This game is a top-downfighter with excellent graphics and plenty of gore. Killing zombies is always fun and here you get to do it "On Mass".
Gameplay: The levels are designed very well and make use of the Xbox's G force graphics. If you have always been a fan of those games where simply surviving a massive onslaught is the whole point, then you will simply love this game. This game is not about being frustrated in trying to find keys or the levers. If you want that some of the game go play "Resident Evil".
Graphics: All graphics in this game are gorgeous, the beauty is that if you chop off the zombies head he still comes at you, chopped off his arms and his body and sometimes even his legs are still walking towards you, just imagine 50 such characters trying to kill you and you might just get a taste of what this game is like.
Sound: The sound on this game is very good and also part of the game(ie atmospheric), and so it is only fair and right that you don't get play your own tunes.
Suggestions: The only suggestions I have for the developers is to add some more fun zombie killing weapons like sticky grenades and also perhaps see things like crossbow bolts actually stay in the victims so they look like walking porcupines. These are just ideas for expansion not criticism, as this game is super.

Overall: I bought this game as a multiplayer game (it supports 4 player co-op) and returned it. It may have been an interesting single player game, but it wasn't enough for me to keep it.
Gameplay: The single player controls work great. The undead just fade in and appear w/o rhyme or reason though. Multiplayer sucks!! You have a very small area you can wander around it, you can't get farther than X distance from another player. This sucks when you go to run away or charge a monster and get stopped 5' short or in a middle of a pack of zombies. Some powers are worthless b/c of this: the power that increases your speed offeres little help b/c you can't outrun the monsters and fire. Also, the power ups (health/magic) fade QUICKLY! This is fine in single player, but you can't help heal a weak teammate in multiplayer. This could be a feature if everything else is fixed. One last thing-- experience is not split evenly. If you have a support role, like shooting the monsters to weaken them so your melee guy can kill them quickly, you'll get screwed over XP wise.
Graphics: The graphics are good for this perspective-- 3/4 top down, gauntlet style shooter/melee. The mosnters aren't very original, not only in type but appearence. All the zombies look alike, there seems to be 1 character model for each monster.
Sound: Sound was mediocre at best. The gun's have different sounds, and the voices are decent. There are few environment sounds, the monsters a weakly supported w/ audio.
Suggestions: This game type screams multiplayer, yet it was a car wreck in that respect. Gauntlet's zoom out feature so that players can seperate is a much needed feature for Hunter: The Reckoning. Work on the powers too.

Overall: Coooool! This game has it all. Magic, A huge axe, shotguns, zombies, .. something that appears to be ninja zomies... and an emphasis on multiplayer!
Gameplay: The controls are good enough once you get used to it. There are some minor little problems you may encounter but nothing that anyone should really notice :p
Graphics: The cutscenes aren't anything to write home about, but the graphics in-game are where it's at. The whole game's got an awesome arcadish feel to it.
Sound: Every enemy makes more or less the same sound, but the soundtrack is alright and the cutscenes have full voice.
Suggestions: keep up the good work! Make a sequel that expands more on the nifty story you've got goin here. More hunters, at least six so every player gets at least a little choice, and nobody gets 'stuck' with a certain character.

Overall: This is one of the best multiplayer games i have ever played, though single player can get a bit boring its still worth a look.
Gameplay: The game play is real good. what makes it so good is you use the right analog stick to aim your gun and straf its realy good to be able to walk in one direction and shoot in another.
Graphics: This has to be the first xbox game when i have played it for the first time and just said WOW! it has some of the best gaphics your see for ages. its even got beter graphics than most pc games
Sound: The sound is great. the guns sound real and the music suits the game.
Suggestions: more characters to choose from

Date reviewed: October 13, 2002.

Overall: From start to finish, the game truely shines.

Given the ability to have up to 4 people playing online at once, the only drawback is that the game scales it's difficulty too far up, based on the amount of people playing at once.

Other than that one minor gripe, everything from the graphics to playcontrol is sweet and well done.
Gameplay: The control is tight. The visuals are superb and the overall atmosphere is wonderfull. This is a much have for anyone owning an Xbox.
Graphics: Graphically, I'm extremely pleased in how the game looked.

If anything, I think the game could've easilly pushed more polygons than it did, making the models more detailed and/or more enemies on screen at once.
Sound: Creepy, atmosphereic...you name it. I really dug the music and sound in the game.

Two thumbs WAY up.
Suggestions: More and MORE of the same. Just build on what's there.
