Overall: Splinter Cells has aways been a great game but Chaos Theory rises above them both.
Gameplay: It is very fun to sneak around grabbing baddies and interogating them then you have the choice if you want to kill them or just knock them out.
Graphics: The character model is done very well and the world looks even better.

Rent or buy?

Are you stupid? Why are you even reading this review? You should already be out purchasing the game. If you haven't yet, then do yourself a favor and drive out and pick this game up, you wont regret it.


Gameplay: The meat of the game. In Splinter Cell you're main objectives are to complete given objectives while staying as stealthy as possible. That means, not being seen. Though you can go through and knife everyone you see. But thats kind of tacky in my point of view. Anyways, a new addition to the game is the knife. Which really is a great tool. It also brings to life the whole, stealthy quick assassin kill. Unlike the first two games this time you can just walk up to a guard and slash his throat quietly. Or just jab him with your palm. Which ever way is good. This definitely beats walking up to someone and elbowing them a few time while getting shot at to take them out. Another great addition is the fact that the game is now more open ended and takes away the whole trial and error system you got in the first two games. You now have multiple pathways toward your objectives that really help you become more stealthy and avoid enemies at all cost. Which by the way the guards are a lot smarter this time around due to the great AI in the game. Guards sometimes will light a flare to check around if they hear noises. They hide behind cover while in a fire fight. And even lay on the stomachs when the fights last awhile. The game lasts about 9-10 hrs and spreads out through 10 great levels. You have the option of difficulty at the beginning ranging from normal, hard, to expert. The game is probably the easiest of the series but that doesnt make it a bad thing. Gameplay also gets a perfect 5.


Graphics: These are literally some of the best graphics I have ever seen. There is so much detail in the environments and the characters that it sometimes looks too good. The lighting and shadow effects really bring this game to life. Sometimes it's even worth walking directly under a light just to see the sheer beauty of the graphics. Only to get shot afterward. Anyways, graphics are top notch and push the Xbox to it's limits. An easy 5.
Sound: First I just have to say that the music in this game is freaking awesome. Some of the best I have ever heard. Amon Tomin (sp?) did an excellent job. Furthermore the voice acting is superb, from all of the main characters to even the guards. They all sound believable and lifelike. Now for the sound, which is also really good. The nice clickedy clack of Sam's equipment as he uses them, the loud bursts of fire from the weapons, the great friction sound of Sam as he moves through vents. It's all just excellent.

Overall: Just like all the other games in the Splinter Cell series, this is another great game. Co-op online is rediculously fun, and the oonline Versus mode is a lot of fun too.
Gameplay: The gameplay in SC:CT is amazingly fun, there is so much stuff that you can make Sam do to complete your mission, and the online co-op mode adds even more moves and strategies to Sam's asenal. There are tons of gadgets at your disposal and each has it's own unique purpose.
Graphics: Great visuals, just like every other Splinter Cell game. Chaos Theory is another step up in the graphics department when compared to it's predecessors. CHaos Theory is one of the best looking Xbox games out there.
Sound: Very good sound, you can hear what direction the enemy is in which adds even more strategy to the already complex game. Nothing to complain about in the sound department from me.

Overall: SCCT is at light years from what its two presequel are. The has improve alot into putting the person in sam fisher's role
Gameplay: The gameplay is actually the same as the others splinter cells except that here in this game we have more interaction with the world we play in. The new moves that sam has are to say very useful during the game not like in the old splinter cell. Even for the beginner of this series it will be something good to start with
Graphics: Visual are to say far more superior than other games Splinter Cell Chaos Theory uses lighting effects to it is fullest not to say ubisoft push the xbox to its limits the water the rain even the characters details are more vivid than we have ever seen in any other game one thing that surprise is the visual on the characters faces it all becomes very realistic when playing this game and the lightning effects is what makes this game so awesome to play
Sound: the sound quality is great we know that from ubisoft mostly when you plug it in with your 5.1 system its so realistic that you come to think the bullets are really flying over your head. There is ofcoure some twiches in it but it is to say minor stuff
Suggestions: the sniping mode in this splinter cell it is hard compare to the two other.

Overall: As always, Splinter Cell does it again, with a worthy succesor into this trilogy set. With better visuals, AI, level design and overall fun and opennes to style of play, Ubisoft does it again
Gameplay: The controls are really what makes this game series, and also lets you pull off all those great moves that help you through those hectic and tense situations. The addition of new AI interaction and their reaction to stimuli in the environment is improved well too...sometimes a little too well.
Graphics: No complaints...it seems each installment gets a bit better each time...with no exceptions here, the lighting, the weapons and gadgets and the small things that are hard to notice, but are startling when seen (i.e. eye shine of others in night-vision mode, wet footprints and the new EEV) really help to bring this to a new and better level.
Sound: Another important facet of any style of play here, to help or hinder you. From idle chit-chat, to literally squeezing info from a captured soldier, it's all here in force...just watch out for those sqeuaky "sparrow" floors.
Suggestions: Splinter Cell owns the stealth genre, move over Solid Snake and give up you top spot to Sam Fisher. Xbox has enough Splinter Cell titles...focus on the 360 and show us how it can be even better (if it can be done...)

Overall: Splinter Cell is the latest and greatest addition to the Sam Fisher series. With amazing amazing amazing graphics and new weapons and moves, this is definatley one of the Xbox's best game if not THE best
Gameplay: Playing SCCT is so real it makes you feel like your actually inside the game. It is difficult to find one flaw worth mentioning in this game because it does so many good things it just rules! The storyline itself is very indepth and of course if it wasn't good enough there, the online COOP and versus make this game one of the best ever.
Graphics: The graphcs in SCCT... wow. I don't think there is a nicer looking Xbox game. Everything from the lighting and shadows to the models and background are stunning!
Sound: One nice new addition to this game was the sound level bar. This bar tells you how loud YOU are versus your enviroment. The sound in SCCT is again practically flawless and amazing.
Suggestions: Yes, make a fourth SCCT that blows this one away (wait, I don't think that is physically possible!)!!!

Overall: The Splinter Cell series will always be the best spy-action-stealth game available for Xbox since the first one. I didn't play the second one cause i was too busy with something else. Now, that i have free time, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory got almost my unique time.
Gameplay: Once again you take the role of Sam Fisher to bring down the terrorists around the world. This time you have more weapons and stuffs to manipulate at your will. The gameplay are similar like in the first two of series, but with enhanced. Sam Fisher have more movements and each missions is longer than usual. Some mission really take your time to finish even you are a master spy. Patient is the key of this game so be patient. ;)
Graphics: Now, the lightning effects is even more attractive than the first two versions. Every object have it own shadows and the reflection effects just add the reality in some area in the game. Sure Sam look better and the ennemies also.
Sound: Sound are great and very important to a game like this. Since you must be very careful to not make any noise possible so the ennemy can detect where you are, sometime is just a so silence in some missions in the game but when the tension is high, is always captivate your attention.
Suggestions: Well, Splinter Cell 4 must have more coop play missions, new costumes to camouflage around, that's all i think.

Overall: Yet another solid game from Ubisoft and to the Tom Clancy / Splinter Cell series. This version is the most complete and polished version released to date.. with the most realistic gameplay all around.
Gameplay: A brand new story to get you hooked, the levels feel longer and there are more of them. Dozens of combinations in using all your weapons / tools at your disposal. This game also features a much improved multiplayer function over XBOX Live. This is the best edition in the Splinter Cell series.
Graphics: This game also features the most polished graphics and animations in the entire series. My dying XBOX could not handle it, but I know a perfect XBOX can having played it on a friends. Everything from the grass and water, to the lighting effects and shadows.. this is top of the line. One of the top 5 best looking XBOX games.
Sound: As in both previous Splinter Cells and all other Tom Clancy games, the sound is perfect all around. I have said it before so I will say it for the last time (until I write a review for another Clancy Game). Perfection in the sound department.
Suggestions: None.. this one is perfect.

The Jackal

Overall: Overall it looked great but it was basically the exact same game as before with a few additions. The glitching, like I knew, would never stop and on the first day of its release every room I went in had people running around looking for more. It's a nice game but Splinter Cell is pretty much at its peak to me and there isn't enough to keep me coming back for the next release.
Gameplay: Gameplay is pretty good. I very much enjoyed the co-op and all the ways you had to work together to accomplish your goal. The addition of the choice to be 100% stealthy, all out kill, or a combination was fun but it became too easy to just run up and kill people. Even when you'd pick the combination it became an instinct to panic and run up and stab the guy because you know not too many guards would follow.
Graphics: Visually the game looks amazing. The co-op however is not as stunning as the single player which is too bad. But, it still looks impressive. However, although it looks amazing it still wasn't THAT much of an improvement from past Splinter Cells.
Sound: Sound is great as always with the Splinter Cell games. There isn't much that could be done to improve on that except the !&%$@#* voices of the terrorists. They always sound the same through all of the games with that same dumb accent.

Overall: Well finally! after the long wait we are gifted with the eagerly anticipated, SplinterCell Chaos Theory.

a lot of hype has surrounded this title since it was announced back at E3, and we all know that hype is a dangerous thing... *cough* driv3r *cough*
but the question is, is SCPT worthy of the hype it has recieved??

OH YES!
SCPT carries on the tradition of improving this great franchise for each new title.
great gameplay, incredibal graphics, added features like CO-OP and a refined multiplayer experience make SCPT a worthy addition to your game collection.
This is the best splintercell game to date, and in my mind one of the best stealth games EVER.

Gameplay: gameplay is as it has been since the original...(keep to the shadows, sneak around and complete onbjectives) it is such a simple game plan, but it has been brilliantly executed.
there are additional stealth manouvers, and moves that you can pull off.. which make the experience altogether more satisfying.
in a way the game might seem more easy, because of the alternative routes, and extra moves which you can perform... but theres no doubt that it is still a challenging game.
of course the multiplayer that was introduced in Pandora Tomorrow has returned - and it grants the game much more longetivity... this multiplayer is a great addition, but sometimes seems plagued by campers.
another unique addition this time around is Co-Op, which was very anticipated... some doubted that the Co-Op would be pulled off... but thankfully ubi has implememnted this new feature without a hitch... and it really makes SCCT unique.

Graphics: SCCT looks absolutly amazing.
i found myself asking, 'is this a PC game?'
it really is amazing that after 4 years the xbox is capable of these graphics.
bump mapping is obviously UBIs graphical effect of choice, and almost every texture seems to have been splashed with bump mapping effects. in some ways it seems overused, but hey.. it looks great, so who cares!
shadows and draw distances also boost SCCTs graphical appeal, and great water effects are on show too.
to sum it all up, SCCT is one of the best (if not the best) looking games on the xbox... and it really makes you think... if this is what the current GEN systems are capable of, what should we expect from the next GENS???
Sound: SCCT sounds much better than previous SC games, environmental sound effects really add to the gameplay experience... and when you cant see an enemy you are always aware to listen our for footsteps.
characters also have a larger range of things to say, instead of the repeated 'I think i saw something' which we heard in previous games...
music becomes repetative after a while, but the excellent overall audio quality in SCCT overshadows that slight downfall.
you can safely say, that SCCT sounds as good as the game its self.
and the game is GREAT

Overall: Sam Fisher is back and badder then ever!!! So far out of the 3, I like this Chaos Theory the best! I cant wait to go back and get higher percentages on the levels and become a true SCCT master!
Gameplay: The game play is great. It did take me a while to figure out how to equip the sniper and shotgun attachments, but thats only because I am a real man and don't read instructions!! I think they have much improved on the game play, The AI is much improved and the use of flashlights for the characters is a greater challenge. I found the whistle to be a bit touchy, for instance if your on this side of an open door and whistle sometimes the characters don't hear it, and then if you move just inside the door jam all of the sudden it works. But other than that the game rocks! I love the use of the knife an the ability to show mercy by choking someone to sleep or stabbing them in the back!!! Cutting through plastic and tents was cool for different entry points. I also liked the fact that you can grab and pull somone out of a room where there is rice paper doors. I also loved pulling that guy off the light tower as well as pushing people overboard on the ship!!! Very cool. The controls are very much like all the other games so not much to learn there, I have not had a chance to play co-op or -vs- yet, but am looking forward to it. I would say that this game is what a sequal should be, the boys at Bungie should take notes on how to make a good sequal, always adding neat stuff, not taking away and don't take risks like making me play the enemy I grew so much to hate!!! But enough of that, way to go with this game!!! Very cool!!!
Graphics: The graphics are better, I noticed that the facial expressions were much better than before, but on the other hand, they are all the same. I think they improved a bit on the lighting of things as well as a more realistic night vision. Once again way to improve on things
Sound: This is so important when it comes to this type of game, because the suspence builds on you and being the fact that I have an awesome surround sound system, They did an awesome job on the sound! If a guard is behind me, I hear him behind me, if I use my sound scope thing, and zoom in, the talking gets louder, and that sort of thing. You obviously took your time on the sound to make it as realistic as possible. I love it!!!
