Overall: Overall, it's a great game. Not a whole lot to do, but thats the case with all fighting games.
Gameplay: The gameplay is very fun, and also very simple. Sometimes your opponent can be very cheap and use wall jumps and crouching moves all the time...but oh well.
Graphics: The graphics are good on the characters, but many of the backgrounds look like the best the ps2 can do...
Sound: The sound is great. Nothing I can say except no custom soundtracks, but they wouldnt really fit well in a fighting game.

Overall: The game it self looked wicked enough, but kind of a bust once ya picked it up. Very solid gameplay, little tricky to get the controls, but then its all about the combos. Backround music is exellent, sound effects are somewhat decent. Interactive enviroments are a plus. Game becomes addicting soon after beating it 4 times, you want to play your friends because you know youll win. sad isnt it? Unfortunetly this game isnt all that, then again, MK:DA was a disapointment too

Gameplay: The quest mode offers some quick training on all of the characters. the game play was tedious. Once learned, finishing both quest modes becomes quick. Multiplayer support on xbox live would be nice.
Graphics: The game is self looks very visually appealing. The framerate is smooth and sharp. Camera gets annoying when it flips you around and your controls are reversed..
Sound: the soundtrack on the game moves great along the gameplay. exellent techno soundtracks, wheres the custom soundtracks?????
Suggestions: Maybe some sort of secrets? Hello! give a game some replay value! Maybe some sort of hidden rooms, kick someone down a clif! Stage deaths would be exellent, hell MK isnt doin it, maybe you should have. After beating this game i felt empty and void....of 60 BUCKS. Better reversals possibly? weapons? something new.

Overall: Microsoft finally has their top quality first party fighter. Excellent game in the same league as Dead or Alive 3.
Gameplay: The basic gameplay is quite easy to pick up but the game has a lot of depth with numerous moves per character of which a lot of them are difficult to pull off requiring some time to master. The game plays fast but unlike other fighters the fights isn't over in a blink of an eye. The absence of rounds is awesome and well over due in the fighting genre.

Graphics: One of the best looking fighters I've experienced. The enviroments are large and destructable and walls can be jumped off of and poles can be swung on and adds another dimension to fighting. The characters look great and for the most part are animated nicely. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is during some of the Chi attacks the framerate can take a dip but it definitely doesn't ruin the gameplay at all.
Sound: The sound is good its nice to hear echos on the interior levels and all the thuds and smacks are good. The voice actors did an excellent job.

Overall: Huh. Well, the graphics, sound etc. for this game are stunning. The character modeling is sweet and the environments are rich and colorful. With that said, the gameplay is just lame. If you like MK, you'll like this game. It has the same lack of depth to the fighting system that all the MK games do. As far as the supposed "realism"... The only realistic fighting game I've ever played is Bushido Blade on the Playstation. Real fights between pro's last until the first unblocked blow. This would make fighting games very, very boring.
Gameplay: Very little. Combos are repetitive, moves don't link very well, there's no counters, parries or other ways to get out of being pummelled by the computer and generally, despite some nice "innovations" (wall attacks and pole attacks) the gameplay just bites. I think Kakuto Chojin had a better fighting system. The training mode also lacks the ability to set the CPU's difficulty and free-form. (You appear to be able to choose 2 actions, but not just free form against the AI).

Graphics: As I said before, the graphics are stunning. The characters are well modeled and the arena's are rich and involving. But a pretty game with crappy game play is just a pretty crappy game.

Sound: Better sound than most fighters, but I'm not going to just listen to it, I'd like to play it and that's where the game falls down.

Suggestions: If you had a real fighting system you'd have an unbeatable fighter. As it is, it's just fluff. You might want to take a page or two from Team Ninja or Namco on the fighting stuff. And... the alternate stance stuff isn't new. Lei had alternate stances in Tekken 3 and they were much more fluid and natural.

Overall: basic boring fighter got old fast. chi moves are wonderful but more of a super move than the usual special moves. animation could have been better. when you get limb damage showing that stupid cut scene just destroys the flow of the fight. on lowest difficulty the computer does huge combos which is strange that the computer would fight so hard. graphics and sound are its strong point fun factor isnt. the annoying camera changes at the worst times so instead of blocking you walk into combos. boring story pole and wall attacks are cool but can be a pain to pull off unless your crazy about this game then everything is easy. for me i would prefer mk:da myself but above all i am still for the 2d fighters since they usually are more fun like old SNK or Capcom fighters. awesome idea and i was all wanting to play this game but when i rented it i found myself bored after a few fights. long fights is great idea with 3 life bars but again useless cut scenes of person getting up are annoying cause you cant skip that stuff. so in my view this game is a big let down.
Gameplay: horrid fighting system. throws and chi moves are nice though and thats about it. and whats with the goth guy having a choke slam what is he kane from WWE?
Graphics: WOW awesome only reason i would rent it again is to look at the visual marvel! i mean it makes you drool but then start a fight and make you want to shut it off!
Sound: ahhhh its ok. i mean it pretty much fits into the feel of the game. but kinda calm dont motivate me to kick butt....
Suggestions: whole new improved fighting system and much better control and a camera that dont make you lose when you try to innocently block big combos although people that block all the time are lame but for the people trying to block when needed it dont help

Overall: Fun and brutal. Extremely difficult in spots but pays off in the end. This game kicks MKDA out of the door.
Gameplay: It's easy to learn the fighting system, but it takes a long time to really get the hang of all the combos and stuff. But where are the finishing moves?
Graphics: This game will make your eyes pop out, the backgrounds and characters get torn apart throughout the fight, and it looks amazing.
Sound: Some of the dialogue is cheesy but overall the sound is awesome, especially when you knock someone into a window or a wall.

Overall: The game to me was on average.The cover is stupid and instead of it luring me it kind of discuraged me from getting it.Now I know why.
Gameplay: This type of game is for renting ,not for buying.I was disappointed at the fact that I got a good impression of it in another gaming site.That is why I am hear now.
Graphics: The visuals were a joke in this game,or at least I thought so.I was disappointedd in this game.I wish I had't waiste my money.
Sound: The sound was one of the better qualities.Even if it was still a major disappointment.Some games are not worth purchasing.

Overall: Finally a fighting game for everyone! Of course I was expecting all the chicks to be juggies but I was suprised to find some of the guys on there hot. Way to go with that! I thought the soundtrack was good, it's very easy for game music to get annoying when it's repetitive, but this game's music didn't bother me. But I do wish the voices were different.
Gameplay: I rarely ever buy games that are just fighting but this one is really great, I never get tired of playing it. I find it very addictive and am itching to play right now. Even if there are little things that bother me, it kind of gets canceled out by the replay value.
Graphics: The visuals were stunning. The scenery, the characters everything. However, where male players most likely enjoyed seeing the chick's top strategically rip at the cleavage, there was nothing for the female gamer. Why couldn't some of the guys clothing get lost in the fighting process? Like Goth's head gear or someone's shirt get torn, especially Divine Fist's? I'm just saying, why couldn't it have been fair for everyone?
Sound: The SFX was good, I loved the sounds when the enviroment broke or the sound of limb damage. But the voices; half of them just didn't fit the character.
Suggestions: Well apart from some of the voices and an equal amount of clothes rippage for both genders; this game is great. Keep up the good work!

Overall: I just like this fighting game. Only three real complaints. First, how can a thong be ripped and stay on the hip of a hot !&%$@#* chick? No more thongs fellas, full front, full back, string on the side panty please. Second, the camera is not bad but when your fighting to gain leverage in the fight, your postion may be hampered due to camera kicking of a wall to the oppisite direction that you are hitting the D-pad and in turn may run into the opponent you are trying to get away from. The third, the combos are not hard to pull off, but definitley hard to get out of an opponents attack. But this game is for true fighting fans. I am not a true fighting game fan but I have had good titels (Soul Calibur(DC), tekken 3(PS1)and DOA(Xbox)).I got this game because of J. Tobias and his team. I was going to get MK:DA but was not sure i'd like it. Plus i'm tatooed.
Gameplay: The gameplay is simple enough, you try to kick someone's tail. Period. Just like any other fighting game. It now depends if you like the way it fights. And I personally do. The charactors are great, the story is great and the design is great and the compos are great. Having to deal with a computer and the Chi isn't cool becasue they can Chi themselves and have their limbs back but to beat them after that is fun. Playing a friend that doesn't know that Chi can save themselves instead of being used as a power move is priceless..
Graphics: Just a few words on it visually. THIS GAME SMOKES! You can't get better. "Xbox only" means that this was made for our box, not gaystation.
Nuff said.
Sound: I turn the music off and the SFX high. SFX are great. I can hear breaking bone noises. Nuff said there too, because you picky tricks bitch that the sound tracks sucks, no kidding! Show me a fighting game that has music you would bump in you bucket. (car: for all you non Hip Hoppas out there)

Overall: Its a fighting game with pretty intuitive gameplay. Better than your average fighting game in more than one way. Gameplay isn't based on the mashing of buttons. Graphics are simply astounding. The sound is well done too.
Gameplay: Well, it is a fighting game so I cannot give it a very high score due to its limitations. However, it does what it is suppose to do fairly well. Combos are a huge part of the game and cannot be executed by any rookie who picksup the controller ie: button mashers. So experience found from playing means that you will get better and be better than beginners which is always a good thing. You can jump off of walls and swing on polls. As well you can hit and throw your opponents into objects found int he environment. However, it is still lacking in what a truly great fighting game should have. The ability to use everything and anything in an arena to defeat your opponent. If you see a barrel, you should be able to pick it up and hurl it. You see a railing, tear off the hand hold and beat your enemy with it. These sort of those have been missing from fighting games since their birth into the gaming world. We seem to be getting closer to having them though. There is also mutliteired arenas with large areas. What pulls this department down is the sudden leap in difficulty. In the easiest setting you cruise through the enemies up until your last foe. S/he seems to be of godlike skill and getting a hit in is a rare event. The only hope of beating the foe is the immediate use of a large combo. Which is hard to do becuase the foe always seems to get the first hit. A smoother transition in difficulty is needed. However, I suppose the difficutly does provide a little incentive for replayability.
Graphics: Eyegasmic. Or Eye delicous as one Neil Sedak might say. The graphics are brilliant. All of the most current graphical techniques seem to be present as well as the tried and true basics. This is definetly the games strong point. It has every fighting game to date beat in this department. Absolutely stunning. The only thing pulling it down is the absence of HDTV support.
Sound: Well done. The effects are varied and many. The soundtrack is decent, it has some good use of Dolby Digital 5.1 and the voices are clear. This is another strong point of the game. Does it have any weaknesses?
Suggestions: Throw in the lacking gameplay I listed, better sound and HDTV and you might have the best fighting game to be ever created!

Overall: After seeing the front cover of this game I thought, "cool looks interesting" After playing this game I thought, "wow what a great game!" This game IS I would have to say the best fighting game out for xbox right now. As I really dislike fighting games I dont like to give them 5s. But if they deserve a 5 I give em a 4.5. Well anyways if you want more info on this great game with simply amazing graphics, and gameplay read on =).
Gameplay: Quest mode, you can be the pale lotus or black mantus. I belive these are 2 differnet "sides" like good verse evil but Im not quite sure. Well anyways, each has many tasks you must complete and actually I thought a pretty good story line. Then there is vs mode which is ALWAYS fun to play a friend....or foe :). Tournament mode is a mere tournament and I think theres one called team battles? but I really cant remember :(. Anyways all of the modes are evry well done and this has great replay value (so you wont be bored of the same stuff). The replay value is not the same as mortal kombats but still good. Anyways, the controls are hard to pick up. I mean HARD Theres basic button smashing which can be a cheap way to win a battle.....but if your really daring you actually try to learn the combos. The combos are amazingly hard to learn! I couldn't figure it out after an hour to make huge combos. The simple walking around, jumping and "quick dashing" is all there but the attacks are hard! Don't get me wrong the attacks are sweet and can be executed well just the combos are hard.....Now to get to the interesting stuff. !!You can jump off walls and spin around poles to get your enemies!! This is a very cool part of the game! I love just seeing them looking at me running then swing you grab a pole swing on it and get the opponent good, (usually in the face). This is great. Now on to more good stuff. Limbs breaking. A great part of the game. The more you beat on an oppenent the less damage he can do! Say you love doing upper attacks, if you keep doing those one of his arms will snap and he wont do nearly as much damage punching! and vice versa with the legs. Very very nice touch! This was really cool and helpful. Now onto "chi". Chi is an important part of the game as "chi" can heal your broken limbs. Cool eh? all you need to do is beat the snot out of your opponent till your chi meter is full! And healing's not all you can do with this, "chi". You can also launch devestating attacks hurdling your opponents into the air? Cool eh? Whoops looks like a forgot one little thing that also is cool. You have three chances to kill your opponent three times. Once youve been beat, you just get up and shake it off. This goes on for 3 rounds. Its really cool!
Graphics: Visuals I must say are simply amazing. The levels have every square inch filled with detail! The environment around you is just wonderful. There are weird objects like this praying mantis thing and some soort of fountain which really adds to it. Nice touch! Also there are the trees and walls that you can jump off of that are well done and put in neat places..... Now onto the good stuff in The SWEET SWEET visuals. When you are beat, you get up, maybe with a black eye or big gash across your chest. The more times youve been beat, the more you look beat up. By the third time your beat your a complete mess! With both eyes black and gashes and bruises everywhere you truly are in bad shape. This was very interesting to see and made me think. Wow They truly did a great job on this game!
Sound: Sound Sound Sound, my most hated review. Well like any other fighting game the sound has.....punches, kicks that make noise. It's all the same really to me. All though the voices are well done, this truly only does deserve a 4.5 I dont know why! Its just its really hard to make good sound in a fighting game, as in my opinion it hasn't been done yet.
Suggestions: Tao Feng rocks! Just work on sound and combos......

Overall: I had higher hopes and expectations for this game. I am sorry to say that I walked away very disappointed. My suggestion is rent the game, then if you like it, buy it. But rental is the best way to save yourself a few $$$ just in case, like myself, you find yourself feeling disappointed with the game.
Gameplay: Game play was as I expected with a few minor twists. The computer fought (as others noted) unusually hard. I felt like I was playing my 10 year old daughter who just continously presses one button, instead of an intelligent AI. I was looking for easier ability to use poles and walls. Also, I was expecting (like others) that limb damage would not only be a little easier to achieve, but also a little more visible (other than their arms just hanging there) I thought it was an excellent idea, just needed some more work.
Graphics: Visually, it was a very rewarding game. However the way that the camera will suddenly flip from one side to another really ticked me off. Because for you to be blocking, you must pull back, but if the camera moves to the opposite side (for no reason!), now all of the sudden you are no longer blocking, but attacking. Also, I was expecting wounds, bruises, tearing in clothes to occur real time, not after you knock the opponent down to nothing in his/her health.
Sound: Sound was good, but it got annoying having to listen to that old man rattle on at the beginning of every fight. Not bad to listen to one time, but after you have heard it a couple of times, it really gets old.
Suggestions: What were you thinking when you designed that camera flip? Obviously you weren't thinking. Also, make the character visible damage a continious thing, not just in between fights.

Overall: I love this game so much...I haven't played a fighting game since MK3 for Super Nintendo, and I'm am now even more glad that I bought my xbox. Tao Feng is simply put in two words- kick ass. I love the choice of characters and the different skins for each one...I am glad to be returning to the fighting genre on a good notice. Right now is the really boring period for xbox owners...waiting for all the good games to come out-Halo 2, Doom III, B.C., Brute Force(almost!!!)...this game is definate must buy, and if you don't really like fighting games, a definate renter.
Gameplay: Well...it's a fighting game, isn't it? Combos, combos, more combos. When you first start playing, it'll just be a button-mashing marathon, but after you get used to some cool combos, and the awesome 'Chi', you will actually have coordinated fights against a very tough AI opponent. You use the D-pad instead of the joystick, but its not that bad.
Graphics: Holy effin shiz...the graphics are amazing!!! I havent seen such jiggly boobs on a woman before!!! Seriously, though, the graphics here a frist class...unlike Halo, each load is only a mid-sized fighting arena-no huge outdoor levels here. That means that in any one fight, the entire grpahics processor of the xbox is showing off for you in beautiful 3-D. Absolutely gorgeous.
Sound: No gripes here...sound effects were good, music was pretty good, given that it is an Asian-style fighting game. Sometimes the character's comments are a little fruity, but you won't notice while Exile is breaking every god !&%$@#* limb God gave you.
Suggestions: Yes, I have a few suggestions. The perfect fighting game would be-

Have topless women fighters...unlockable, of course...

Be able to see the bone break skin when I trash some guy's forearm over my knee...

I want to be able to choose from over 30 characters to fight with, NOT including unlockables...

Lots of energy, weapon, and flying-character attacks...

Soundtrack compatible! C'mon, Microsoft, what the hell'dya build this thing for anyways???

Overall: The overall appeal of this game for me is twofold. The depth of the fighting between two good players combined with the possibility that the next version could be Live enabled drives me to want to become expert at it.

Gameplay: I enjoy the fact that buttonmashers will be destroyed. The depth of the game only became apparent after having opponents that had also played the game for more than a few hours.

Two main issues I'd like to see dealt with.
1. The camera switch needs to be fixed. I do not think it is as bad as others have made it out to be though as it is relatively easy to understand when it is likely to occur.
2. Tick damage on damaged limbs. Apparently there exists the ability to have small amounts of damage "bleed" through when the blocker has sustained limb damage, but at ship-time for the game, they disabled this. I do not know why, but I think thats a great feature.

Graphics: I think the game looks great and unlike some, I LIKE the fast movement. The environments are great and the look of a floor that Exile has just pile-drived a skull into is awesome.
Sound: I enjoy the techno-asian feel to the music and the battle sounds are great. I also like the many voice-overs and enjoy the "cheesiness" of some.
Suggestions: 1. Live, Live, Live... That possibility is why I do not expect to tire of this game. The desire to be great Day 1 on the next version's release. And not just Live fighting, but Live updates. Once the whole community can fight one another, we will more quickly be able to determine play-balance issues. The idea that you could tweak damage and fix characters to make an even playing field would be amazing.
2. Fix camera view.
3. Add Tick Damage.
4. Two more characters for each clan.
5. Listen to the community about character-play-balance issues... So far, I do not believe that we, the community, has had enough time, but eventually, we will have pretty strong views of which characters are second(Or even third) tier. I do not believe that some character SHOULD be weaker. When Live comes, it would be great to see a nice even spread of usage rather than the 2 or 3 most powerful dominating the scene. Again, I think it is too early now to know.

Overall: I think the real time damage is a kick !&%$@#* concept. They should have been doing this for a while. I think the arenas are well done. I like how in the Museum and the Training Room the sounds echo. All around its a !&%$@#* good game.
Gameplay: This is the only reason I give the overall a 4.5. The fighting engine is not as advanced as say DOA 3 (the best fighting game ever). The combos are nice though and I like how all the characters have alternate stances. It kinda mixes things up a bit.
Graphics: What else can be said but....DAMN! Looks great. You grab your opponent by the hair and slam their face into the ground and now theres a hole in the floor. You kick them into the wall and now theres a huge hole where there body hit. I especially like the bruising. It's cool to be able to see how badly you beat your opponents not just by the health meter.
Sound: I like the background music. It's not something I would run out and buy the soundtrack for but it fits with the theme of the game. Also nothing sounds better than the sound of a counter blow landing squarley on your opponents face.
Suggestions: If there is a sequel you should hook up with team ninja and incorporate counter attacks into it.
