Overall: The reviews for this game have been all over the place, which I think is unfair. You can't compare this game to Splinter Cell or Halo because it's simply an entirely different type of game. If you want a ''perfect'' game, this may not be for you. However, despite its flaws, Wolverine's Revenge is the answer to many X-fans prayers because it really does deliver an adventure that takes full advantage of Ol' Canuk's special abilities. A definate buy for fans and most definately a rental to everyone. You won't be dissappointed.

Gameplay: Now THIS is where the game really hits a homerun outta the park! When most average people hear the name Wolverine they think '' OH YEAH that's the guy with the claws!'' and it would've been very easy to make the game based on just that. Activision took the next 3 steps and incorporated his healing factor (in a suprisingly balanced way) as well as his heightened senses and combat prowess. You actually FEEL like Logan as he searches for his past, using your senses and taking on outrageous missions...with the occasional SNIKT! of course, heh. In addition to stealth kills (which earn you Bonuses and new moves), you have a very interesting combo system that will allow you to take out as many as 3 foes at once! This level of immersion is no small feat and it shows how much effort Activision has put into this game. I could go on about this category for a few pages but then you'd all fall asleep so.....

Graphics: While the character models are well done (especially in the FMV's), they are a little on the choppy side in terms of animation. Anyone who has played Spiderman on the Box will know what to expect. Also, the indoor environments look a little muddled, but whether or not that was intentional is up for debate. I've always felt that the Activision teams had trouble making a living, breathing world in their games...and this one is no exception. With that said, there are some very good lighting effects as well as ''weather effects'' (snow, raindrops, etc.). The coolest graphical feat in the game would have to be the Heightened Sense mode. The screen goes blood-red and you can actually see the heat emissions of your enemy's as well as ''sniff'' their scent. Very cool stuff.

Sound: Everything sounds as it should. Metal clanging, wood breaking, yadda, yadda. The voice acting is VERY well done. Mark Hamill had me worried, but he pulled Logan off really well. Patrick Stewert voices Prof X with the same passion that he brought to the movie, and it adds a lot to the experience. The in-game score is passable, but you'll probably want to create your own custom soundtrack.

Overall: I fell into all the Xmen hype around the movies. I like both movies.. but this game doesn't live up to the movies goodness, or even the older games on older systems. This game is so ho-hum, it was barely worth the 5.99 rental fee.
Gameplay: A repetetive beat'em'up just like the Spiderman games.. but this game doesn't have a saving grace that the Spidey games did (swinging through the awesome city). Camera angles get all funky in close quarters, which makes this game annoying. Overall there isn't anything here to excite me.
Graphics: The graphics are average. Apparently this was a console-wide production, so they had to go with the lowest common denomenator. This isn't acceptable to me.. developers should try to push the power of systems.. but we all know that's not how it goes. The animations are smooth enough, the characters are below-average.. and the backgrounds seem out-dated.
Sound: Not much to speak of in the sound department. The regular beat'em'up sounds you would hear in any cheap game like this.
Suggestions: Don't make a game if you aren't going to work on it.

Overall: This game is pretty fun at first, but once you beat it, its good to play when your bored. This game is better as a renter's game. Any die-hard X-Men fan should buuy it.
Gameplay: This game is pretty fun with the challenges after you beat the game. After a month though, it could be a little bit too boring.Only people who like this genre or is a fan should buy it. The controls are not too difficult after an hour or so.
Graphics: Nothing impressive, but still looks like an Xbox game. Even though I think even PS2 could easily handle the graphics(I hate PS2 just to let you know), its a bit too edgy.
Sound: The sound effects of this game are pretty good and helped it raise its score. The voice of wolverine sounds just like him, or are in fact, played by him.
Suggestions: You made a good game that has some flaws.

Overall: Wolverine's Revenge rocks! I thought this game might be a disappointment, but after playing the first level, I realized I love this game! The action in this game is fast and furious. Tons of enemies to hack and slash away at. The music, sound effects, and voice acting are terrific. Also the story and the graphics are pretty good too. I think Wolverine and comic book fans will not be disappointed when they play this game.
Gameplay: The gameplay action is fast and furious. Tons of generic looking bad guys to hack and slash away at, plus you also face-off with some Wolverine's bowling buddies such as Sabertooth, Wendigo, Juggernaut, Magneto, and the lovely and bodacious Lady Deathstrike. One cool gameplay feature I enjoy using is Wolverine's instincts/senses to locate enemies and mines.
Graphics: The graphics are pretty good considering the game was released to accommodate all three consoles and even the PC.
Sound: The music sets a fitting mood to create tension and suspense for each level. The sound effects are pretty cool. I love hearing Wolverine's claws sheathe in and out and also the groans of the enemies as I slash them to death (muhahahahaha...!). The voice acting is also terrific, especially Mark Hamill, who did an excellent job playing Wolverine.
Suggestions: I love you guys! Bring on the sequel bub!

Overall: X2: Wolverines revenge is a similar type of game to Spiderman, both gameplay and grpahic wise. The player assumes the role of Wolverine, in his quest to find his idenity?? i could be wrong but thats what the first level had me doing. Sorry to say, I never tried getting part the 2nd.
Gameplay: The gameplay is brain numbling dull. Back in the days of NES, most movie tie in's we're platformers. Well, now we're seeing the movie tie ins made into 3rd person beat em ups. I presume that making these games aren't difficult, simply due to the sheer number of these games made. Theres nothing here AT ALL that hasn't already been done and done better. Spiderman was ok for what it was, so if u liked spiderman chances are u may enjoy this. But DONT mistake this game for anymore than a cheap movie tie in.
Punch kick, get hurt, retract ur blades -> Heal, kick, punch, look for door key etc etc... surely everyones played and know these type of games.
Graphics: Not much i can say about this, other than i presume its a mulipte platform release, because the graphics here look terrible, they dont even look good on a PS2, let alone xbox. Everythings jagged and edgy, the colours are bland, colission detection is faulty, clipping is non existant etc...
Sound: Hmmm not sure on this one, the punches make a satisfying crunch when they connect, mines sound ok, Wolverines Claws sound good. Voice acting isn't 2 bad either. But that doesn't mean the sound is good, it just means the sound is acceptable.
Suggestions: With the money u will undoublty make from the sales of this game, buy urself some nice cars, a house, women, u know, the good stuff in life. Then pretend like this game never existed.

Overall: As the title suggest, you get to play as one of the most popular X-men, Wolverine, as he unlocks the secret of his origin and races against time to find a cure for a virus that is about to kill him.
Gameplay: Apart from occasional camera angle frustrations, gameplay is pretty smooth and easy to master. There really isnt a great deal of difficulty defeating your lesser enemies but performing certain special moves and attacks does take a bit of skill and timing. I really enjoy the stealth option and the use of wolverines heightened senses and healing factor. Like alot of people I love the X-men so the chance to kind of "live out" a comicbook adventure is a huge draw for me.
Graphics: The graphics seem to stick to a good comicbook style that starts to look really cool once your able to use some of wolverines other costumes. I really liked that aspect. The graphics also really remind me of those in Timesplitters 2. Still, very cool graphically.
Sound: Sound is very good especially the music that comes on when your in stealth mode. Thereis a good sense of urgency in the music which I really like.
Suggestions: Cool game so far. Definitely not for everyone. Best to rent before buying.

Overall: even though this game hasnt gotten the best reviews i found it very fun. though at times it can get repetitive it ends up filling most of ur needs. if youre an hardcore X-Men fan than this is a must buy.
Gameplay: fighting & moving is done very well. the camera can be annoying at certain times. it is cool though how snow can be stuck on the camera. the extras were also fun to watch one youve unlocked all the cerebro & cut scene movies theres even more to the game.
Graphics: though they could have done better given more time the graphics sometimes come out rough but tolerable.
Sound: hearing your claws coming in & out are cool. plus voice overs from Mark Hammil & Patrick Stewart are also fun to listen to.
Suggestions: if u plan on releasing a game along with the movie make sure u start a long while b4 the movie comes out so u can perfect it.

Overall: Ok. Here it is. The good, the bad, and the just plain UGLY. Like many others, I had VERY high hopes for this game. But sadly, the programmers have taken my hopes and smashed them against an adamantium laced wall. The storyline was good and solid, but the rest left somewhat to be desired. Read below for the gorry details....
Gameplay: Ok. Gameplay was so so. I loved the ability to play one of the greatest X-Men characters of all time. However, there were several flaws that really made me, not only mad, but down right disgusted at the programmer. So let's open Wolverine 101. First lesson, Wolverine has adamantium claws that can cut right through anything, especially human flesh. HOWEVER, the programmers seem to think otherwise. For example, ACT 3: Level 1 you break into a barracks full of sleeping joes in their skibbies. No armour, but yet 5 of 'em can kill ya and you can't kill them. Sesson two, Wolverine's mutant healing power works EVEN when his claws are extended. Nuff' said. Lesson three, Wolverine has VERY hightened scences. However, it seems that he has a problem with following characters such as Wendigo off of the edge of cliffs.... Hmmm.... "rack that up to bug # 23432..."
However, that being said, it was still fun to play Wolverine. I just wish that they would have fixed such glaring problems, which could have turned this rental into a purchase.
Graphics: Graphics were ok, but what can you xpect from a port :p
One HUGE problem, which others have mentioned, is that STUPID camera thing. It has a mind of it's own and just keeps turning when it feels like it. Dumb, dumb and dumber. Very frustrating. Cutscenes were not too bad. However, allow me the ability to skip the movie scenes if I want.
Sound: Sound was solid. Great voicing jobs and such. Background music, nice touch. Overall, sound was the most professionally done. Too bad that the rest of the game was not done as well.
Suggestions: Fire the programmers and hire new ones if you end up making any $$$ on this game. Read above and fix these GLARING errors in programming and design.
