Dead or Alive 3

Overall: The game is fun and addicting when wanting to beat it in story mode. I spent alot of time while playing just amazed at all of the detail and physics and graphics. The moves are cool and when you get in the groove and all ofyour button combos are releasing major combos and damaging shots, adrenaline shoots up your arm... Or maybe that's the controller shaking =)

Gameplay: I actually like the gameplay. I'm a big button pusher when it comes to fighting games and pushing buttons still works in this game also =). But I have noticed that lately i've read the manual and become more of a special move/finesse kind of fighter and it adds a whole new aspect to the game. Makes me feel like Bruce Lee when i get certain things working.

Graphics: Visuals are great. I love the water, I love the dimples in the sand and the snow trails and gulleys when a falling body implants into it (no pun intended). Oh, and Hair moves like real hair, all of the strings from uniforms, move like real strings- and as the women go.... Hey! They move like real women!

Audio: The sound is great, forgetting that all of the talk is in Japanese. But as for the other sound effects from crashing into water to crashing into buildings really captures the mood of the fight.

Suggestions: Get me a date with Tina.... and I have one question... Why in the hell is Omega the man you have to beat with every fighter and why does he have to shoot out so much stuff and be such a dirty fighter? You have no idea what kind of words and how many of them I said when I'd have to fight that guy every ending of story mode.

Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Cel Damage

Overall: The game is fast, faster, and fastest. NOTE: If you're narcaleptic and can't deal with fast moving motions.. and falling anvils or anything like that- this game isn't for you. If you like twisted comedy and a very fast over the top vehicle killer, you'll like Cel Damage. The cel shading is very nice and the animations of the cars are great!! What really makes my drip water from my mouth is the fact that wherever you chop a car with the axe or chainsaw, and no matter where you shoot anyone with the javeline... It'll stick at that place or it will cut them in exactly that place, really impressive to me.

Gameplay: I don't use the joystick to control, i use the directional pad and at times it's a little tricky turning around fast or not backing up straight. The game is fast, so you have to be prepared to hi B and A like your life depends on it througout the whole level. Sometimes I'd find myself riding and hitting away and relying on people to run into me, but after playing a game like that it comes natural and starts to become fun and a little strategic as to where to go and when. Be prepared also, the computer special characters can be hard as hell to beat. You're giong to have to be on top of the game to get the 500 smacks or to beat the computer in the gate rally as sometimes it's frustrating to have the special characters beat the mess out of everyone. Frustrating, but fun in the same sense that makes you replay that level with determination.

Graphics: Cel shading is my new hero =) I love the way the game looks, it's very fitting for the game and the characters. everything moves nicely with no slowdown even in the most intense fights where axes, bats, rockets, and black holes are flying everywhere. I love the way the cars get cut accodring to where you cut them at. If you swing an axe and hit the car across the hood, it's going to cut it at that exact spot.. Very nice.

Audio: I like the sound, i don't really have any complaints. The characters are funny and the music goes right with the atmosphere of the game. The aligator's voice and demeanor is great!

Suggestions: The game is fun, different, fun, and fast, and fun! I'd like to have the computer opponents not blow me out of the water in some games, computer opponents could be a tad easier in my opinion (I say this, but note i've beat the smacks and gates with B.T. Bruno so it's not impossible or anything like that). And with the secret characters being unlocked when you beat the game with every original character on every map in all three game modes... it's easy to say i'm giong to be in this for the long haul =P

Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 NFL Fever 2002

Overall: Playing my first game ever of NFL Fever i was skeptical whether I made the right choice or not by going with it over Madden. However after 2 games the game is more addicting than Madden. I can play more games without getting tired of it or having to take a break because it's fast action football but still keeps the reality part of it. To me, it's a perfect mix of Madden's more reality slow based game and NFL2k2's more fast paced actiony kind of gameplay. In Madden I was always a runner and run stopper, in NFL2k2 I was more of a passer, in Fever I've found myself having a balanced attack and having success on defense in both air and ground categories. I'm really glad I went with NFL Fever, it's a new experience, yes, but it's great fun.

Gameplay: Like I said, the gameplay is great, it's the perfect mix. I've finished one season in dynasty mode and went through the offseason and I must say I'm very impressed with the depth it contains in offseason. Playing defense is both fun and a challenge as the computer can have an effective game running and passing the ball. I've enjoyed playing the computer as they offer more of a tougher but still competitive challenge. I haven't had a game where I stopped their running for -20 yards and had them pass for 450 - so I give major props to that aspect. The Dynamic Player Production is also great as player's ratings change from game to game depending on performance. That is also a major part of the game as I've always been a fan of making someone like Billy Joe Tolliver a star, and in this game you can with DPP =)

Graphics: The visuals are bar-none the best I've seen in any football game. I can't say enough about the graphics. I'm in awe everytime I play, and I love the mud and dirt the players get during a game. I'd give a 10 and my family if i could, but since that's not availabe I'll give it the 5.0

Audio: I've never really been a big sound guy, I never really pay attention to sounds in games so I couldn't give a good or bad when it comes to sound. I know that sound is a major point of reviewing in magazine's and I've never quite grasped how they judge sound when you're glued to the seat having so much fun playing a game like NFL Fever. But hey, when the play is stopped I like the trash talking. There's one thing I did notice and I laugh everytime, it's when the quarterback says "HIKE" or "BLUE 32" and his voice cracks.. lol

Suggestions: The dynasty mode and yes the 5 minute quarters in dynasty mode will make me probaly play 70% of the games of each season for 25 season. Many people gripe about the 5 minute quarters in dynasty, and i was skeptical of that at first but after playing the game, with the type of game and action it is- it balances out well to have a realistic statistical game without spending an hour and a half finishing it. For the developers, I'd like to see more tackle animations, that's my only gripe really is the tackle animation. We have left footed kickers in the game, but from what I've played with Mike Vick it seems the left handed quarterbacks got shafted with the animation=) i'd like to see better left handed quarterback animations also. And my third of only three complaints in the whole game... WHERE ARE THE CORY CHANTS IN CINCINATTI ? =P

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Halo: Combat Evolved

Overall: It's been a while since I've played a quality single player FPS, and I'm not ashamed of waiting as long as I did because Halo is just simple amazing. Everything in the game is just right, the game never gets old because there's nothing but action in all of the levels. Deathmatch is great fun with 4 players, and the 2 player campaign mode is extremely fun. Me and my roommate beat the game on normal and we're both looking to finishing the game on Legendary. it has a replay factor that is tremendous

Gameplay: The gameplay is great. It's just this simple : If you like action, adventure, first person shooter, great cut scenes and story, and alot of shooting up things, this game is great. I can't imagine anyone disliking this game, even if they dislike it, they'll change their mind once they get into the Warthog the first time and explode through a nest of aliens. The aliens have very nice AI. Sometimes you'll luck up and lure a couple out, but don't count on that little trick happening alot as these aliens catch on and will set up and duck behind barrels.

And I have to mention the MANY multiplayer game modes from Capture the Flag, to Deathmatch, to Flag Rally and Race. It's just !&%$@#* good!

Graphics: If for some reason you don't have hands, fingers, or thumbs and can't play this game (can't imagine you not playing without something being wrong), then watching the game is just simply amazing. I finally allowed a couple of my friends pry the controller out of my hands to play and I just sat there in awe of the graphics. The enviroment is just outstanding and the colors really capture the mood of the game.

Audio: The sound was great, the gunfire was amazing and the alien sounds are great. I lack in all of the surround sound or dolby, so at points the sound effects and music overrode the sound of what to do next in the game, however you can figure out what to do next without hearing those people because a text message appears of what to do.

Suggestions: Next installment, Halo 2- I want about 2 more guns, another race of aliens, and at least two more kinds of vehicles. This game is exceptional the way it is, but you add a couple more guns, vehicles, and alien races in the next Halo and it's going to be without a shadow of a doubt, the best damn fps shooter there is. (And Note : Noone could tell me different that the Quake Series wasn't the best, but Halo has took the spot of the best, craziest, funnest, and revolutionized FPS there is for me... Quake 3 still has Multiplayer, but with Network play coming towards summer, I can tell you where my time is going to be spent online... in Halo Multiplayer.
