Prey

Overall: A first persoon shooter that is more puzzles then shooting. you play as a native american who is abducted by aliens. as you go along you uncover dormant powers and lots of cool weapons.

Gameplay: its a shooter with some heavy puzzle solving. the shooting was ok but the puzzles are really where the game excels they are all so well designed. and all the guns have cool abilities and things that you can do to them and with them. but the lack of exterior enviorments really make this game feel dated.

Graphics: Graphics are sweet. ENOUGH SAID. the shadows look great the effects look great. it really shows what the 360 can pull off.

Audio: sound is cool and very well done. this is where the game truely excels. the guns and powers all have unique sounds and it brings a sense of awe to the game.

Suggestions: add a co op mode or mabye a split screen multiplayer. also make more use of the character and his background. i felt that the game became just another sci fi shooter rather then really making me love the character i ended up just wanting to finish the game.

Overall Score: 9.0 / 10
Phantom Dust

Overall: You, as the player take the role of "The gifted one" and as such it is your responsibility to recover your lost memory and save the last surviving humans. all while doing so in a dystroyed Tokyo. the game is well put together and well thought out, and only for twenty dollars.

Gameplay: This is at its heart a card battle game. but it is nothing like a pokemon or yugioh. rather then having literal decks you have power orbs that you can map to the face buttons and use power to activate them. all of the orbs are broken up into different groups such as the obvious attack and defence skills to the more obscure erase and enviormental skills. all of the attacks have different effective ranges and the game is full of strategy, you really have to think one step ahead of the computer player. the camera works rather well but when you are locked on to an enemy sometimes you have to free the lock so you can look around and get your bearings. and sometimes later in the game i get frozen by an enemy's attack when the enemy is halfway across the level.other then that the game is solid my only real complaint is that there are not enough game levels i played the same three stages more times then i would like to remember. but custom soundtrack ability more then makes up for it.

Graphics: the graphica are all very well done. the world looks like a spin off of the Matrix. and the character models are all well put together. all the different attacks have a certain look to them and when you see a big fire ball headed towards you you know its going to hurt. also the levels are completely destructable even the weakest attacks leave a big hole in whatever it touches. that is a very nice touch.

Audio: the sounds of all the powers are great, varied and are really neat to listen to. there is not much of a game soundtrack to speak of except for when you are in your home base sometimes you can hear classical back music playing which gives the game a great errie feel to it. but the thing that saves the score is the costum soundtrack ability which is well done. listen to linkin park well killing your best friend. all of this is great.

Suggestions: great game overall microsoft. but please when you make a sequel and you better, put more levels in it and let me name my own character the guys in the game comes up with the dumbest names ever.

Overall Score: 8.0 / 10
Jet Set Radio Future

Overall: I have to start out by saying that I love Sega. they have a style about them that is refreshing and fun, no matter what game it is that they publish. their games are geared more towards the hardcore players in most respects and their gameplay style in general is very arcade like. which makes sense because they started in the arcades. some people might find some of Sega's games child like and simple but many of them are deep and take a while to truly appreciate. the same can be said about this game Jet Set Radio Future. the graphics and gameplay may not be the best but the game is just down right simple and fun to play. the game also has a interesting subject that makes for a great, and strang game experience.

Gameplay: at the start of the game you become on of the members of a group, who skate around towns and tag their territory. you later run in to new members who you must out skate in order for them to join your group. once they join you can take control of them, each skater is different and has skills some of the other skaters dont have. the multiplayer is amazing as well me and my friends love this game and play it frequently the tag battles and ball games are all alot of fun.

Graphics: Smilebit sure knows how to do cel-shading right, and in this game it truly shows. everything looks like a great cartoon and the visual effects like smoke and sparks are all very nice to look at. also the character models are all well built and uniqe from each other. well cel-shading does not really push the xbox to its limits the look of the game is crisp and make the game fun to play.

Audio: the soundtrack in this game is unbelieveable. i loved evry song. while i hate a lot of techno music in games this game does it right. the music is all weird and fun, eventually i found myself singing along to the music, something i have not done since the old sonic games. this soundtrack is awsome one of the best ever.

Suggestions: the game is a little short in my opinion, and i would have liked to have been able to pull off more tricks like in Tony Hawk, i know that thats not what this game is aiming for but the ability to pull off more tick combos would be great. try to make the next game system link for multiplayer. over all great job.

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10
Armed and Dangerous

Overall: Armed and Dangerous is a game where you take the lead of a small band of freedom fighters and try to bring peace back to the land. all of this well laughing, and killing people with a Shark Gun, thats right a Shark Gun. and this game is published by lucasarts and it does not have star wars on the cover.

Gameplay: this game reminds me alot of a classic gauntlet style game. you run and gun to kill hundreds of people that seem to never stop coming. there is not a lot of gameplay variation in any of the missions, however sometimes you will have to sit in a gun turret and defend a city from being invaded. that can be loads of fun. also all the weapons you can use are all ridiculous looking and fun to use. and I never get bored of watching things blow up. and the levels are all well put together. plus you can use a jet pack, who dosent like using a jet pack.

Graphics: the graphics are dated but nice and get the job done. the movies that you can watch when you get to the end of a level are all hilarious and great fun to watch with friends. the whole game is a laugh riot. so this score is just because the movies are all hilarious and so much fun to watch. the game graphics are nice, but like I said they are dated and could have been done better.

Audio: the sounds are cool. all the music is fun to listen to and all the guns have a distinct sound to them. the voice overs are all well done and make the game feel like an interactive comedy movie. so over all a great job.

Suggestions: please make another game like this one. give it more weapons and better graphics. and a multiplayer game would have been nice but great job all around.

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10
Halo

Overall: Halo is an amazing game. I have had the chance to buy and play both halo 1 and 2, and two is no where near as good as 1. the polish is just not there in the second game. enough said, all you do is murder covenant alien soilders. now that may sound boring but it is not because there is a huge amount of strategy to it. plus co-op and multiplayer are amazing.

Gameplay: This is a FPS meaning all you do is shoot run and jump in first person. plus you can only carry two weapons at a time so you have to find the right combination for each different alien type and situation. also you can play through thr one player game with a friend on the same tv. That makes the games longevity soar. one of the best games ever made in my opinion.

Graphics: The graphics rock in halo. from the second I put the game in the XBOX I was amazed. every blade of grass can be seen and the draw distance is incredible. the mission objectives are there but the game gives them to you in a wa y that the game feels free roaming in a sense, and thats good because there is alot to see and shoot. absolutlely breathtaking.

Audio: the music is great and the guns has its ownn distinct sound. when you hear the sniper bullet ring out you know your dead its gut renching and kind of neat at the same time. every thing sound and music wise goes together to create an amazing immersive expeirence.

Suggestions: great job all around. I only hope XBOX 2 is backwards compatble so I can play the game even longer. wonderful game.

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10
Sonic Mega Collection Plus

Overall: Sonic has always been my favorite video game character, and this is a huge collection of classic Sega Genesis games. I say that because not only do you get Sonic the hedgehog in all of his glory, you also get some other great games as well. Like Comix Zone and The Ooze.
this is obviously for the retro gamer who loves the older games. And for only 20 Dollars what a deal.

Gameplay: Classic Sonic. Run (fast) Jump and kick some ass. This is Sonic at his best. This really shows why Sonic is so great, and why his games are true classics. the Game Gear titles are nice too but not as ground breaking as the original Sonic Genesis titles. Sonic 3D is still a terrible mess however, but the other games make up for it.

Graphics: Very well done. Sega did not change a thing in the graphics department. the enviorments still look great, of corse you have to take in to account the original system, the Genesis is not as powerful as the XBOX but they looked really great for the time. they look better then some of the older SNES Mario titles if you ask me.

Audio: Midi sound, the tunes are really cathchy. I often find myself humming the tunes while in an elevator or when Im in my car. again nothing has changed its the same great sonic that it always has been.

Suggestions: Great collection over all. but a few games were missing. Sonic CD, Chaotix 32x, and sonic 2 for the Game gear. but over all great Job. Sonic has always been my favorite character and his games are all wonderful. It is a real shame that Sega does not make consoles anymore, their consoles were the best. especcially the Dreamcast, come back Sega. SEGA WILL NEVER DIE!!!

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10
Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc

Overall: You are a character with no arms or legs and you run around a sweet looking world and do stupid tasks enough said.

Gameplay: the lock on feature sucks and the camera is the worst I have ever seen. even worse then the 3D sonic games camera. the tasks are dumb, and repetitive and the story made no sense what so ever.

Graphics: the graphics are cool looking. if fact they are the best part of the game. they are colorful and bright. the lighting is good and the character designs are well thought out. but the levels are to small and there is not enough to do.

Audio: the music in the game is regretable. trippy as it is. it does nothing to excite me. and the voice overs are very annoying. not great, just ok.

Suggestions: I'm a huge platform fan. from mario to sonic I love platformers. people even make fun of me for it but I stick to the belief that platformers can be fun. but this game was terrible. please if you make another rayman, fix the camera, give me more to do in the world. and please fix the lock on feature.

Overall Score: 6.0 / 10
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Overall: You play the magical character Harry Potter and his two friends, whos names I can't remember right now. and you journey through a really well built and thought out castle.

Gameplay: you journey through dungeons and use spells to accomplish goals. sort of like ZELDA, but no where near as good. also you can map spells to the buttons for easy access. a good idea. also you can switch between the three wizards. no my friend bought me this game as a joke for my birthday but I still played it and had some fun with it. the game play is decent but not really that entertaining I lost intrest in about an hour or so.

Graphics: the graaphics are good. the castle is amazingly detailed. and the spells look good. but the graphics all seem a bit brushed and not as crisp as I would have liked them to be.

Audio: the sound is the best part of the game, that should tell you something about the game itself. the spells sound amazing and the voice overs are better then most games. still they repeat alot of things and it gets repetative very quickly. overall the sound was ok.

Suggestions: good try EA but really you have to make the game better. the camera is trash and the graphics suck. the adventure is mediocer and boring. if you do another Harry Potter game please don't. movie games are never really that good and this is no exception. so please don't make anymore.

Overall Score: 6.0 / 10
Dynasty Warriors 4

Overall: KOEI is a great company and DW4 shows why. they have great ideas for games and somehow know what makes games fun. Dynasty Warriors 4 is a fun and addictive hack and slash. it feels a little like the old brawlers that the SEGA Genesis use to have. In the same vein as a Streets of Rage, or old school Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle game.

Gameplay: You hack and you slash your way through thousands of guys. then you defeat the boss and move on. at first i thought that this was a very simple game mechanic. but about 30 minutes into the game I relized, this is harder then I thought. the difficulty is all across the board, but thats a good thing. it keeps you on your toes. also the two player option is very nice. between this and HALO 1 and 2 is some of my favorite co - op stuff. little bit of lag, but no big deal.

Graphics: the graphics are sad, being a PS2 port I would expect inferior graphics. they cleaned up the look a little bit, but overall everything looks good. the enviorments are varied and well thought out. now if only they could make Dynasty warriors on the XBOX first.

Audio: the soundtrack is ok. not really memorable like a mario or sonic game, but still well done. the guitar rifts are fun to listen to as your massacuring one guy after another. still i don't know why there is no costum soundtrack support. this is the perfect game for it, you walk around for up to 90 minutes in most levels. thats enough time to blow through like 25 songs. all in all good.

Suggestions: good game. now all you have to do to make it great is put in custom soundtrack support and build it from the ground up for the XBOX.

Overall Score: 9.0 / 10
Halo 2

Overall: Obviously this game is huge. there was news coverage about the game and websites had countdown timers for the games rlease. It is one of the most anticipated games ever made.

Gameplay: Its a FPS so you shoot things. thats all well and good and it works for the most part. but the thing that really bothers me is that in the game the tank is a 1 person vehicle now. sure the AI can jump on for a ride but my friend coulden't in co op mode COME ON thats just dumb. the sword play is ok not great. and the ability to jump onto vehicles is somewhat clumbsy. also the game is too acted out by that i mean that there is to much talking and not enough shooting.

Graphics: the graphics are well inproved over the first game. but still I prefer the halo graphics over the new Halo 2 graphics. also the mapping on the characters and the terrain flickers and pops onto the charater after the main body of polygons is loaded. im not looking for perfection, but the look of the game is a bit sloppy. also the new multi player maps are to big and hard to manuver in. still the ability to use banshees is fun.

Audio: the sound is somewhat worse in this game. the alians no longer have their own voices. instead they all speak english now, which takes some of the fun out of the game experience some. i would have licked to have custom soundtrack support and i know that it would be kind of dumb, but still it would be fun. still the music is more of the same. but i liked the music in the first game.

Suggestions: still a great game and a worthy successor to the halo throne, however te graphics seemed poor to me and the addition of the sword is kind of pointless. plus i would have liked to have seen you keep all of halos original weaponry and just add on from there not redesign all the weapons. overall a good game but i liked the first one a little better.

Overall Score: 8.0 / 10
Sonic Heroes

Overall: This is the first sonic game on the xbox. And a brand new sonic game entirely. unlike the ported dreamcast games on the game cube. this game is some how worse then sonic adventure games but still a worthy addition to the sonic saga. the major pull of the game is having three characters at once instead of the one character.

Gameplay: like i said before the main pull of the game is having three characters at once. the problem is this is more annoying then it has to be. instead of having funi was paying more attention to which character to change to rather then the game itself. it is frustrating at first but i got use to it however i like having one character only and not three. and there is a muliti player but it is not very good.

Graphics: the graphics are more polished then in the sonic adventure titles the characters all have this sort of sheen to there bodies. It makes them look cool and not as choppy as in the sonic adventure games so thats a plus but the enviorments are not as much fun to run around in. the textures are dull and blurred. this being a multi-platform game this is understood i mean the ps2 can not do what the xbox can do. however the textures could have been richer. the graphics do get the job done though.

Audio: the same old voice overs and 80s rock music are all back.please sega get better voice actors like in shenmue for the dreamcast. I will say this however tails voice is much improved he is not as annoying to listen to anymore like in sonic adventure. the sound effects are all well done so this score is mostly for the bad voice acting. I can get use to the music but never the bad voice overs.

Suggestions: please go back to having one character. and put the chao garden back in that was a lot of fun for me. get better voice actors and develop only for xbox you could do a lot of good on the green machine.
