Project Gotham Racing

Overall: Good game for a racer. Really fast and arcadey. Fun for casual arcade race fans. Most of the cars feel the same though, just faster or slower. 4WD handles better, and feel heavier, and FWD are lighter and slide everywhere (good for kudos).

If you dont get frustrated easily, this can be a really fun game. If you want a quick fast and fun racing experience, this might not be the game you want. It really takes a long time to master the tracks, and beating the cars, and kudos challenges.

If you are a Metropolis Street Racer Fan, this is not really a sequal to it. It has ALOT of the same courses as in MSR, and it is much much MUCH shorter than MSR. It took me about a week to get to the end of PGR (about 100 challenges), while it took me months to get to the end of MSR (250 challenges).

Gameplay: good arcadey gameplay. Fun for all racing fans. Some really tight turns will keep you concentrating. Some of the turns are way too narrow, in one of the new york tracks, my car can barely fit through without knicking the car, and i needed to go 20kph to get through.

The computer is a cheater. They use a "class" of cars for a race, and there is always this one car that is above of the class of the rest. If you dont get ahead of it on the first or second turn, it will gain 2 sec every checkpoint, and at the end of the race it will be 15 to 20 sec head of you, and 40 sec ahead of the rest of the pack. At least this gives you a challenge. :D

Kudos are cool.

Graphics: Looks great!
Realtime reflections. Although the reflections seems to be updated every OTHER frame, which is kind of a drag.

The building are stunning when you drive through them at high speeds, but you notice the lack of details in the replays.

You will notice how much details the cars have in the replays, but you cant really tell while you are driving.

The cities are huge. But they are ghost towns. No human in site.

The sky and weather effects are great! really nice. The nightime, and fog are really challenging. ANd if you break both your headlights at night and fog, you are screwed.

Audio: sounds are alright. Nothing too spectaular. I cant really tell if the dolby 5.1 was in use when i was playing.

The music is also good, but it needed more tracks, that is why it is good that you can put your own music tracks in it. There seems to be a small bug in the game, when it switches tracks, the game would free for a split second, and really throw off your car if you were doing a fast power slide.

The squeeling engine noises and music really got to me after a while, so i just lowered the volume. :D

Suggestions: make it LONGER, like MSR!

LAN play, Internet play is a must.

Better multiplayer!

more cities and tracks!
