Sega GT 2002
Overall: JEBUS, this is a pretty good game. over all i will give this a 4.5
there are some things that could have been done much better, like hack said in his review of this game it seemed like it was rushed to release and i agree. there are several things that they left out, whether they were lazy or not or just didnt want to, i think they should have had the create a car again like they did on the old version on dreamcast, also they need more tracks, 8 and some variations is just not enough to suit me, after 4 days of owning htis game i knwo just about all there is about each track, i anticipate them and get them just right 80% of the time, that is, to me, too fast of a learning curve. i have over 20 hours into this game but i feel like i should have more. i have my S license and once i got the Ford GT Concept it seemed as though the game was way to easy after that. either way i compare this to the old version of Sega GT on Dreamcast and it is a HUGE improvement, gameplay-wise and grd is also very good.
Gameplay: The gameplay is pretty precise imho. i think that they hit it on the nose this time. compared to GT on Dreamcast it was hard to control even the Ford Mustang Cobra R which is a very good handling vehicle, it wasnt on Dreamcast, but on Xbox they have upgraded this game to perfection as far as gameplay goes, i like the options they have for controls and i havnt changed them since i got the game, i like the game modes they have available too. i think that they should have had more then just splitscreen Multiplayer, they need at least to utilize all the controler slots ont he xbox. either way this is what also made playing this game so enjoyable. it was easy to controll the cars and as you upgraded your vehicle you could tell a BIG difference in the performance of your car. HP/tires/brakes it all helps in the end and wt. reduction also helped a lot too. sega did a great job there. AI was imho pretty good too. looking in the rearview mirror as im going down a straight and there is a car gaining on me ready to pass i dive over to the side they are passing and they slow up and then try for another side, i play 'you cant take 1st place' with em and i end up winning most of the time if my car has the best power. AI was done pretty good, i have seen some say that the AI wasnt very good and they dont acknowledge that we are there, but i think they do as they back off from me when i cut them off and i notice that they dont drive perfect and go in the grass on the side of the road just if not more then i do. i can be as sloppy as them and it seems more natural that way too. good gameplay i give it a.......
Graphics: the graphics.......cars are beautiful, the backgrounds didnt impress me that much. i think they could have done a lot more to the tracks to make them more attractive. too much 2D in this game. THIS IS THE XBOX, show its true potential, utilize what power is given to you Sega, you guys can do better then this. the rushed this or just didnt think this would matter the even the casual gamer or more entense gamer either, MAKE IT LOOK LIKE IT IS ON XBOX i rate it a 4.0 because the car models are so good
Audio: sound.......well i have a regular 19 inch television, nothing fancy no nice 5.1 speakers but from what i hear on my regular tv speakers sounds wonderful, i have heard things that it sounds great with surround sound 5.1 dolby digital blah blah too.......i will take that in consideration as i rate this part of the game, anyway, i could hear when a car was gaining and even what side i was hearing it on. with these crappy tv speakers they were precise and each car sounded different, and you could tell very well without looking at your speedometer when to change gears from a higher to a lower and visa versa. the sound was great, 5.0 great job guys

better graphics push the xbox to its limits and kick some xbox graphics ass. other then that i like this game better then i do RSC and i was amazed by that game. consider that a compliment sega and go with it

Rallisport Challenge
Overall: This game is great. From putting your own music in the game to having to restart just because of the jaw-dropping graphics of the cars and the scenery. I am still blown away when im racing on ice against for friends or even just the computer while listening to Eminem or Lynyrd Skynyrd. It is just.....AWESOME!
what can I say other then I am happy with this purchase. Not much else to say but if you havent gotten this game then go out and buy it. Just owning it for the sake of showing your friends is still a treat. If you dont like it let your friends play it too so at least someone else can enjoy the game. This game is very cool
Gameplay: The gameplay is very good. On key and as you progress in this game you really have to work just to get 4th place. yes i said 4th place lol. but seriously the gameplay is on target and from my past experiences with this type of racing game this is a huge improvement. VERY GOOD!
the way you have to react with the brakes and the gas and shifting up and down or even just using an Automatic clutch you have to differintiate how you drive depending upon hte terrain you are on. i always rejoice when i get on some asphalt knowing i can get a chance to quit swerving back and forth and so on.
Graphics: What can i say. im astounded. i end up restarting a race over and over just because i cant focus. the scenery is supurb. VERY GOOD GRAPHICS!!
Best graphics for a racing game by far. The cars are perfect, the scenery is just jaw-dropping is all i can think of to say. Awesome graphics. Wheew, i gotta take a breather, be back in a few mins.....
Audio: OK...im back. had to get a MD code red. Like i said above, listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd while racing a car on a console is much different when it is implimented into the game then just having it on a CD player. it is mixed with every other sound and the cars. when i start a race im pumping the gas just to hear the backfires...that is soo cool. every car sounds different which is pretty neat and shows that htey actually did some work on the sound, i have no prob here they did a great job making this game and the sound is very UBER!
Suggestions: i like what the first review had about having a "make your own car" feature. that would be pretty awesome. maybe every race you win you get more points added to a different catagory to add to your car whether it be different design or whatever you want that is listed as an upgrade to your dream car. that would be very neat. hmm what else.....no that is about it, oh wait, i know this is a Rally game but ehh, be dangerous and spice it up a bit with some good ole downtown scenery. put one of the races in the middle of a big city. i did feel a bit of an emptyness when it was all country and if ya could make it so we dont have to be reset automatically just keep it so we got a button to reset us when something happenes, I WANNA WANDER SOMETIMES! ok im done, very good game and i recommend this to EVERYONE!
