New Race of Champions infoActivision has chosen a developer for their brand new spanking game Race of Champions and has released some information on this title as well. Race of Champions will be based on the annual Rally racing event held in the Canary Islands and the developer that has step up to the challenge is UK-based Climax Group. The game will include about 25 cars which will be coming from a wide range of manufacturers such as Mitsubishi, Toyota, Peugeot, Audi, Porsche, Citroen, and many more. To drive those cars you need some world class drivers, how does 30 of them sound. With the likes of Didier Auriol from France, Armin Schwartz from Germany, and Tomi Makkinen from Sweden.
"We are very excited to partner with the Brighton arm of the Climax Group to develop Race of Champions," said the vice president of Activisions European studios, Julian Lynn Evans. "Their development expertise, coupled with their proprietary DYNE Motorsports technologys powerful simulation capabilities, will enable us to achieve ultra realistic motion and collision responses on a variety of vehicles. Climax aims to make Race of Champions the most cutting-edge game in the driving genre, and given their track record, we fully expect them to succeed."The development for Race of Champions is set for the Xbox and PS2, also it will hit the stores sometime in 2002.
