First Expansion for Tropico 5 Penultimate Edition Out Now on Xbox One

‘Waterborne’, the first major expansion for infamous city-builder/political simTropico 5 Penultimate Edition is now available on Xbox One. The future of Tropico lies on its shores – and now renowned leader El Presidente wants to spread his reign out into the sea and take advantage of lucrative new industrial opportunities by constructing waterborne structures across the coast. The expansion features water based game mechanics for the first time in the history of the series and comes with a slew of new features and enhancements: such as water traffic, larger coastal areas and new events to keep even the most seasoned island ruler on their toes.

You can build brand new off-shore alternatives for defence, food, energy, entertainment and even housing. Organise and co-ordinate transport to production buildings like the Oyster and Kelp farms, construct tidal power plants as an eco-friendly alternative to nuclear power and build luxurious floating apartments. Launch military submarines to bolster your naval forces - or create an exotic bathysphere attraction to compliment your bustling tourist paradise. The ‘Waterborne’ expansion for  Tropico 5  Penultimate Edition includes an all-new campaign spanning six epic scenarios, new dialogue and story. Plus, all new content and off-shore gameplay works with existing sandbox maps and multiplayer modes.

Here’s a quick summary of what is new in regards to the Features of ‘Waterborne’:

  • New campaign and story spanning 6 challenging missions
  • 9 new off-shore buildings and marine vehicles
  • 4 new island maps (also available for sandbox games)
  • 4 new music tracks
  • 2 new avatar costumes
  • 6 new avatar accessories
  • New sandbox tasks and events to go with the waterborne setting

In addition to ‘Waterborne’ Kalypso Media has also confirmed the release date of further Tropico 5 Penultimate Edition add-ons for Xbox One:

  • ‘Paradise Lost’ – Out Now
  • ‘Waterborne’ – Out Now
  • ‘Epic Meltdown’ – 26th August 2016
  • ‘Espionage’ – 30th September 2016

So there you have it, seems like Tropico 5 Penultimate Edition is gonna keep getting some love.
