Play as General RAAM in GoW3 DLC
We still havent yet reached the release of the first downloadable content pack for Gears of War 3 and already we have details on DLC pack number two.
Entitled RAAMs Shadow, the DLC adds new campaign content set before the events of the first game and, as youd expect given the name, General RAAM plays a key role.
According to todays announcement, the campaign content will last upwards of three hours and is set in Sera after Emergence Day. Youll spend part of your time playing as Zeta Squad, a group that includes Michael Barrick from the Gears comics, Gears of War 1s Lt. Minh Young Kim, Gears 2s Tai Kaliso, and a new female character named Alicia Valera. Zeta Squad is tasked with evacuating a city and is forced to deal with a Locust Kryll storm.
In addition to suiting up as the members of Zeta, players will also get the opportunity to play as the final boss from the first Gears, General RAAM himself.
"RAAMs imposing size and strength, along with his Kryll shield, make him one of the most powerful and daunting foes in the Gears universe," said design director Cliff Bleszinski. "We think fans are going to have a blast unleashing hell upon the poor humans for the first time in a campaign setting."
Other content to be found in RAAMs Shadow includes six new multiplayer characters and the Chocolate Weapon Set, in addition to the obligatory Achievements worth 250 Gamerscore.
The DLC is set for release on December 13 for 1,200 Microsoft Point ($15) and, according to Bleszinski, is "the biggest DLC release weve ever made." Those who have bought the Gears 3 Season Pass, which is still available, will get RAAMs Shadow for free at release, the Horde Command Pack on November 1, and a slate of DLC still to be announced.
