Xbox 360 temporarily drops $50 in US...& Canada?
Perhaps in response to the recent price drop of the Nintendo Wii, Microsoft is temporarily slashing the price of select Xbox 360 bundles, including new Holiday Bundles and the highly anticipated Halo 4 Limited Edition Bundle (not yet on store shelves) by $50 at major US retailers. A quick check online seems to indicate that Canadian retailers have yet to follow suit (Best Buy has dropped the price on some Xbox 360 bundles by $50 until November 2nd, but the pre-order cost of the Halo 4 bundle remains at $399.99. At other Canadian sites such as Futureshop.ca and Walmart.ca, its business as usual with no obvious discounts on 360 hardware). It might be because of the timing; today is a Tuesday and most electronic retailers in Canada begin new pricing for the week on Friday, so eager shoppers looking for a good Xbox 360 deal north of the border might want to wait a few days.
Here is the official info from Microsoft Major Nelson (Larry Hyrb)s webpage:
