7 Wonders of Crysis 3 Webisode 1 now on YouTube
Seems like everyone is doing a webseries these days. Halo 4, Far Cry 3...now it’s Crysis’ turn at bat. EA and Crytek are doing this one quick and dirty though, forgoing real-actors and live action sets and instead rendering the entire episode using the fantastic CryEngine 3. In the director’s chair is Albert Hughes, who brought us films such as Menace II Society, From Hell and The Book of Eli, but the real driving force behind the action is the skillful player behind the nanosuit, as almost all the story is seen from the hero Prophet’s perspective.
Titled "The Seven Wonders of Crysis 3", it seems likely that this webisode will be the first of seven, each one focusing on a different aspect of Prophet’s abilities and/or Crysis 3’s sandbox environments. This first episode, "Hell of a Town" features a battle between Prophet and a squad of Cell soldiers just outside the Liberty Dome, a huge artificial canopy that separates central New York City from the uninhabited urban wasteland that surrounds it. Outside the dome, New York has truly become an urban jungle, and as the Cell soldiers who have dropped in by helicopter are about to find out, in the outer city, it is Prophet who hunts, not they.
