Microsofts budget
As you all may remember Microsoft has a $500 million marketing budget to help spread the love about Xbox. So far they have managed to use that money to team up with SoBe, Taco Bell and Vans for marketing and promoting the Xbox. Everybody knows about SoBe’s three-month, cross-country "Love Bus" tour, which will feature the beverage maker’s fleet of eight vintage buses parking at music festivals and street fairs. Consumers will be able to play the Xbox at these events. Also, another nice chunck of change helped Microsoft @ock block Sony as a sponsor of the Vans Triple Crown series of extreme sporting events. PlayStation’s two-year contract just expired, so Microsoft jumped in to sign a three-year, seven-figure deal with Vans.
Here is some brand new spanking news on getting the word out about the Xbox. Soon Taco Bell will air television commercials that will have the Xbox plastered all over your T.V. screens and set up displays featuring the game machine in 7,000 restaurants nationwide. Last but not least, Microsoft has plans to send an inflatable arcade out across the great land we live in stocked with dozens of Xbox’s for would-be consumers to try out in more than 40 cities this fall.
