Shayde: Monsters vs. HumansXbox game developer Metro 3D is full of fantasy creatures with their next big project: an exclusive multiplayer online first-person action game titled Shayde: Monsters vs. Humans. Metro 3D is also developing Dark Angel: Vampire Apocalypse and Armada 2 for Xbox, so you know these guys will kick some ass online. The first-person action game will feature both single-player story-driven missions and multiplayer online gameplay. In the single-player mode, the player has been given the choice to fight on the side of good, or be a minion of evil. You can choose to play as a noble paladin warrior, or an evil and hungry monster, and attempt to complete 36 missions for each of the playable characters.
In the online mode, up to eight players on two teams of four will be able to compete head-to-head over Microsofts Xbox network. The games graphics have a gothic-like presentation, as castles and dark, and cavernous underground settings make up the games environments. Each individual character will be pumped up to at least 8,000 polygons. The team working on the game is shooting to emphasize a frightening and gruesome portrayal of a gothic first-person world.
After youve chosen what side you wanna play on, and if you pick to be evil you have your own reasons, you dont have to explain your sadistic side to anyone, your main incentive is to cooperate in a team-based atmosphere with all the players on your team. So four-on-four battles will be the main attraction of the game, along with the plot. Metro 3D promises that the final game will release around Halloween 2002 for the Xbox. The game is currently being developed exclusively for Microsofts console.
